when we install the programmes in our computer, we can start the programmes in two ways (1) by desktop shortcut icon & (2) by clicking on start menu. i want to know how do i remove the programmes from start menu. i know how to hide the icon that are on desktop. also i want to know that when i install programmes in my computer i dont want other people to access or open my programmes.

You can remove simply by right clicking and select delete. This will only remove shortcut

This will only remove shortcut ,the best way is when u install, most of application will ask the option for the start up menu disable it or for some software u can also right click to the installed file and move to the properties where u can give ur own password

first off for the start menu. right click on the toolbar where the icons are located. a window will pop up. click properties at the bottom, then start menu tab. here you want to click on customize on the select windows start menu you use. i use the old classic view which also has more start menu options to add and remove any program i want.
for your second question, the only way to do this is to set up user accounts with passwords. if you do this then they can't get into what you don't want them to as long as you are the adminisrtor..

The actual start menu programs are available by right click start menu -> Explore -> Programs folder. These consist of all shortcuts to the actual programs.
