Try exercising during the day. Exercising helps you sleep because you're tired.

Try to go to sleep each night around the same time and get up around the same time; this will put your body on a schedule.
Also, try not to use your bed for things other than sleeping i.e. reading, watching tv. By reserving your bed strictly for sleep, your body will know when you climb into bed that it's time to wind down and go to sleep. Avoid caffeinated beverages past dinnertime and don't work out right before bed. I personally have found that a hot shower or bath helps relax me in order to fall asleep.

Get those egcrate matress toppers, those are really nice. Also try using heat before going to sleep, or drink a beer really fast, if you want to sleep but can't fall asleep. I do that and I sleep really well.
