when he does something so simple as adds garlic to a dish....I mean c'mon. I like garlic as much as the next guy, but that's just stupid. Then they go nutso when he adds some of his special spice powder crap to a dish. Show me duck confit or how to make the perfect brisket and I'll go crazy, but garlic and spice powder crap....lame. What do you think?

I think it detracts from the cooking. I liked his show better before the audience.
However. One, the audience is made up of total Emeril fans who are star-struck just to be there, like groupies if you will.
Two, there's an "Applause" sign that lights up when the directors want the audience to cheer.
Still, the audience is a bit over the top. I'd hate to act like a star-struck screaming 12 year old.

Yes, it is way overdone, and sometimes I'd like to "BAMM!" the audience a good one with a whole braid of garlic. But hey... Emeril is an entertainer, as well as a chef. The studio audience is there for the show - we can ignore them and pay attention to what's cooking.

well I've been to he's live show, and there is a lady there that holds up a cube card that tell u when to go crazy.. and that's why they do it.. and at the end of the show they give out t-shirts and aprons..what's crazy is that u don't get any of that good food unless your up front.. and the place smells so good people are mad at the end of the show.

YEAH!! I hate that show....and that guy....and his stupid toothpaste commercials! That toothpaste is nasty....he's a liar!
