If there is a disease in a Canadians blood that is not tested for (and this is really only the case when we don't know about the disease or don't know how to test for it) and that specific blood is transfused into another person (I assume not Canadian) then there is a chance that they may contract the disease.
This is rare though.

But there are many risks associated with blood transfusions.

ummmm, no cause they test the blood of the donner before they put it inside you and i dont think that canadians have a specific disease in their blood...
