I don't think they make fun of Christianity per say, just the people that scream about it and want to force others to believe what they do. Also because some people are hypocritical and preach the word and aren't doing what the word says. That is laughable.
Just like a few people that answered. The reasons vary. Some want to feel superior to something they think they have figured out. That's no better than the Christians who spout of bible verse that make no sense and condem people. Some people just want others to feel bad so they feel better. If you gotta build your ego like that, it's a bit sad. I personally don't agree with Christianity at all but, I live & let live and don't demean anyone for their personal beliefs. Calling someone stupid or uneducated for being a Christian doesn't make it true & it isn't going to make them think they are. If anything, it will reaffirm that everyone who doesn't think like them are evil. That's not right either but the bashing will continue.
Real intelligence comes from tolerance and allowing others to have thier own beliefs without feeling you have to insult them. At the end of the day, what others believe have no affect on your life.

it's always been that scared ,bully types of the world, alway pick on the people that represent the weakness, in them self, and it scares them so much that what the Christians are saying is true and they know they are not saved, and they know if they get saved they will be picked on by their friends, they will loose friends, and he will be looked on as a weak no brain, idiot,stupid, same words that they call Christians to make them feel better about being scared.even though some of the ones that pick on Christians really want to become a christian, they hold out because of friends, and how others will treat them..so they think that before they die they will have a time to get saved, but they never think they could die in their sleep, or have a sudden death, like a car accident, heart attack, or being attacked and killed.....but this fantasy is very unrealistic.....most times that extra few minutes aren't there.in the end

Well I do not know where you are, when you say most people, because I do not find that. Many times people make fun of things that they do not understand. Christianity is not a religion it is a lifestyle. Jesus Christ died for our sins and when we ask Him to forgive us for the sins we have committed and ask Him into our lives, we are free from them and we are like a new person, the bible says new creation. So when we are new then we have to renew our minds to the lifestyle God wants us to live. It is a progression, just like when a baby is born they need to grow in talking the correct language, learning things of what is being taught to them and they grow in the knowledge of what they are being taught. This is how a christian developes into being Christ like who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed and sick. God loves us and He created us, but when sin entered in He brought a sinless man into being that would take the sins of the world on Him and died for us so we can one day live with God. God loves us so much, and onlly when we realize that and start reading the bible and asking God to show us the truth, will we begin to understand.
Also when people make fun of it they have a conviction of the truth, but are rejecting it and think they are so macho, But they are ignorant and a fool the bible says, and we will know the truth and the truth will make us free.

Because in the last days there will be mockers, blasphemers, those who persecute beleiver's for Christ's name sake.
I wouldn't say "most". Many people have been destroyed by that anti-Christ spirit at work in so many churches as well as outside the church. Satan knows he has but a short time to work and the world stage is being set for the remainder of end-time prophesy to be fulfilled to accomplish the one world government, one world church, and one world bank and economy system. That will mean the rise of the Antichrist who will cause everyone the world over to take the mark of the beast or nto be able to buy or sell. Those who have no compunction in verbally abusing Christ's followers now, will have no conscience blaming them for the world's problems at that time and they will be put to death for not taking the mark which damns souls to hell.
I don't take it personally because I understand what spirit is behind it driving the people. Some use to know God or truth in some measure if not sincerely. Others might be plucked from the fire before it's too late. Jesus said "10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Actually MOST people don't. Some do. If you are a Christian, maybe you need a different group of friends to run around with at least part of the time. The rest of them need to be invited to church or a BIBLE STUDY, possibly at your home.. You could be the determining factor in their life-changing event that takes them to an eternal rest. I guess I don't understand your idea of "most" considering 79% of America is christian. To me 79% is most. I, however am not christian, but 99% of my family is. I don't make fun of christians in general because of my family. I do make fun of some of their values because they are very hypocritical.

Because somewhere inside of them they are convicted and they don't like that....Christianity more then any other religion is mocked and made fun of....Jesus warned His disciples of this and said the world will hate them because of Him. If Christianity was just "another" religion then it would just except it like all the other religions, but BECAUSE its followers have a relationship with God it is treated with disdain and ridicule.

Don't feel sad! Many people attack Islam and make fun of Prophet Muhammad as well. Facts do not change no matter how people make fun of them or take them lightly. We need to respect each other more; much more.

I don't make fun of it. I make fun of the people that defend it like they're clinging to their last hope of reality or something. Or the people that have to insult others.
