The answer to this question is none. Fetal development continues until delivery so any drinking with harm the baby. I have done foster care for several years and have seen the kids with FAS and FAE. They are devistating disorders that create pain for the child and parents. Check out some resources on FAS (Fetal Alchohol Syndrome) the pictures alone should make the urge to drink right now go away. You only have a little while to go. Focus on your baby and try to give him or her the best chance.
Rooting for you. You can do this.

At the end of the day, it's your decision and all people can do is offer their opinion and experience in this situation. Personally, I wouldn't abort as I don't see Down's syndrome as a severe enough disability to justify it. In another two weeks, your baby is viable and stands a good chance of survival outside of the womb. Several babies have survived in neonatal intensive care units from 22 weeks gestation onwards. Whilst there are some health complications sometimes associated with the syndrome, a lot of Downs children live extremely happy lives. I've known several in my life and I can honestly say that they were a lot happier than most of the unaffected children I know. They are also very loving. My mum knows a Downs lady in her late twenties who is actually an actress and has her own home. I would suggest you talk to a counsellor before doing anything drastic as they are impartial and can offer some really good advice. In addition to this, you could go and see your doctor and find out what caring for a child with Downs actually involves. At the end of the day, this is still your baby. Abortion is not something to be taken lightly and can cause you permanent psychological damage. If you decide to continue with your pregnancy, whether it is difficult or not, you will adjust to having a child who needs a little extra care. I hope you manage to reach a decision that you are happy with and wish you all the best for the future.

Sorry, but I find it a little odd that you would even think of how much beer you can drink when you are that pregnant; wouldn't the want to have a healthy child far out-weigh even the thought that you would do anything like drink or smoke to possibly cause an abortion or serious illness in your child after it is born?

So, that's about 8 months. That depends. Do you want the child to be like Barney or more like Homer ? 6 pack for a Homer. 12 pack for a Barney.
Vodka, if you want to have a Boris Yeltsin. Don't you understand that the size of the baby inside your womb is several times less massive than you,has less blood volume and so can become intoxicated much faster than you. Just imagine if you were a baby inside a giant mother who decided to drink the equivalent of a keg of beer or just one can of beer to her.
This is the Religion & Spirituality section just so you know. Not health,Medicine or Pregnancy.

None, but if you have been drinking up to now, the damage is probably done already.
Just to be sure it's worth it to stop now even if it's late. Oh by the way same thing for smoking.

Drnking , Smoking and drug use can cause birth defects , or still birth , please wait to drink , for your childs sake , and also recent studies show that kids whose parents drink while they are in the womb grow up to be heavy drinkers .... yeah i know beer rules but its not worth it !!!

You should not drink any alcohol of any quantity, just wait until after you've breast feed a few months, then the baby should be OK.
