Just recently my high school sweetheart and I got engaged. A short background- we were high school sweethearts and broke up after 6 months and we moved on with our lives. Of course she dated other guys and I dated other girls. To make the long story short we met again after 13 years and we got engaged just recently. Can anyone suggest a motiff for our wedding that entails our story and love for each other? Our wedding will be at 4 pm in a tropical country and she had been contemplating applegreen and white colors but somebody suggest bronze and blue. I wonder this might be a good community to ask for your suggestions. Thank you. I love her so dearly.

AWWW....how sweet! Congratulations!!!

I'm liking the applegreen w/white....maybe splash a little brown in with it (trims/sashes or such)...as brown is a very hot color right now, and it would also offer an "earthy" feel.
I wouldn't worry about a "theme" so much, sometimes that can be hard to pull off and half of the time some guests don't get it anyway.(If it's not done perfectly, it can lead to dissappointment and a LOT of over-planning....things become "obsessive" and more about the details than the day....)

Just stick with fun and romance as your "vibe" rather than going with a theme.

If you DO use the green/white/brown combo...a really CUTE favor would be gourmet carmel covered apples (green of course!) There are a few different sites to order these on line, just do a quick search. OR they can easily be done yourselves.(BIG money saver!) (roll a light, crunched nut coating over the carmel to add pazaaz) Wrap in clear cellophane and have them tied off w/a white ribbon and a little personalized card attached with either:
*your names and date + a thank you message....or-
*your guests name and you could use these as your place cards as well as the favor!....or-
*if you REALLY wanted to have "something" that reflected your history together....print your cards to also include a pic of the 2 of you from high school and have the caption "You Have Always Been the Apple of My Eye" and then your names and date. This would pull in your history and it would 'sort of' present a theme without going overboard...and I'm sure it would get a few reactions from your guests! ;-)

Just have FUN...keep open minds while planning, things will just seem to fall in place that way...hey, it worked for you 2 right?

Ive been a wedding planner for many, many years. If this was brought into my shop for us to come up with ideas for the both of you.
I would suggest a Home Coming Wedding and depending on your high school colors. The wedding would be done in white as a back ground. Only to keep as formal as you would like. If you have pictures of when you two were sweethearts I would blow them up to a large 8X12 and place them through out your reception and in the recieving area. Also I would place current pictures of your selves today. To be enjoyed by all your friends now and then . Flowers would be done as the king and Queen at Home Coming. With bells, charms and lots of ribbon. If you are getting married in a tropical setting then any color in a very formal setting will look awsome. Congratulations and God Bless

"True Love Finds its Way Back Home" - would work well with the bronze and blue...compasses, old maps, etc.

"Sweethearts Forever" - to me, kind of cheesy but it might work.

Whatever you do, it is always fun for me to read a bit about how the couple met and their journey together, which is sometimes included in the programs or invitations.

I personally like the applegreen and white colors better, but mostly because bronze and blue were the colors of our rivals in college!

If you really meant what you just stated---your colors will not matter!!! Just one small suggestion, subdued colors will never come back to haunt you in those old wedding albums, but the alternative will. May you always be in as much love as you are now.! Take Care and be good to one another.

go with what ever she wants. It may be both your wedding days, but shes probably been planing her perfect wedding since she was young. Give her what she wants for this day.
Good luck and congratulations!

you don't need a "theme" anybody who knows you both will know your story. just work something into your vows about how you met and then reconnected again.

congratulations!
