i've had mine pierce for almost 4 months didnt hurt that bad the second one always hurts more ,im not the only one to say a couple of friends also said the same thing. mine were done with straight barbells you can usually ask the piercer if u can choose what type of jewlery you want.

they do make them more perky
they do hurt if it gets too cold
if you have the correct jewlery and size it shouldnt snag
they were sore for a week but wernt back to normal for about a month when u can change the jewlery but they arent completly healed for about 4 months or so
they do increase sensativity

if u want a detailed description of my process through the piercing email me

I had mine pierced and I'll try to answer your questions. Keep in mind that this is only one person's experience and yours could be different.

1. My tattoo parlor used captive bead rings.
2. They didn't make my nipples erect. It was business as usual for them.
3. It hurt like the devil. Not as much as a cartilage but it still hurt. From 1-10 I'd give it about an 8.
4. They didn't snag on my clothing when I wore a bra but the first couple of days they said to not to wear one and it hurt so bad when my clothing rubbed on the piercings.
5. I kept mine in for a litlle under four months and they still hadn't healed fully by the time I took them out.
6. It made my nipples more sensitive and not in a good way. In a 'don't touch my breats' way.

I would also say that even though my experience wasn't perfect not to use what other people tell you as a reason not to do something. My friend had hers done and it barely hurt her at all, and she healed fine. My advice is to go ahead and it it's not going well don't be afraid to take them out, you can try again. I plan to.

wow, lots of good questions. I have had mine for over 2 years.
Horizontal straight barbells seem to be the best
Wear a sportsbra for the first few days - even to bed that helps from snagging, rubbing etc.
Yes they are perky then so that is a bonus if you had 'innies' before.
I never had a problem with clothes snagging - I have like bent over something and caught an end on the counter or whatever.. it 'ouches' for a bit.
I have not had any luck removing them for any length of time. I removed them to have a mamogram and it was a little hard to reinsert them but I did.
I would use surgical grade steel - a reputable piercer will help w/the jewelry.
Initial discomfort was only for a week or so - use the sportsbra and it will be less.
sensitivity was increased (that may be dependent on the individual)
You can get hoops later.. its all personal preferance but use straight barbells first.
cold weather doesn't make a difference. Once they are healed - you will forget they are even there.
I even have some unlined bra's and it isn't like they just poke out of your blouse or whatever - they are not that noticeable unless you want them to be...
The only thing as I said above that really hurts is IF YOU SNAG THEM on something - oh like a towel getting out of the shower.. so just be sensitive to the area after they are first pierced.. good luck!

Each to their own, it may or may not hurt. Personally, mine didn't. I'm only young and spontaneously went to the tattoo studio to decide to get my nipple peirced, and walked out with 2 nipples peirce and no pain The peircer literally marked out the position, numbed it and then clamped it, then a needle was in and our in seconds, it didn't bleed, on a scale of 1-10 it hurt 2 (I think cartlidge peircings hurt more!!) The heeling is fine as long as you are hygienic and care for it, I used a oil based one and a very watery solution, and 4 weeks of this use made the peircings non painful! The first week of the peircings made my nipples swell however this didn't hurt??the only pain I can say is catching the nipple bar on something e..g in the shower on a loafer!! 100% get it done, don't hold back and think about it or it will put you off :)

I don't remember it hurting when I got them done (this was 6 years ago though). However...they got the needle stuck while piercing one of them and were kind of tugging on it to get it to go through. I think I turned green and thought I was going to pass out. They did hurt for a few days. But I loved them. I had to have surgery last year and had to remove all my piercings. I could have used a plastic retainer, but wanted to try going non-pierced for awhile. Now I miss them and often think of getting repierced.
