I just watched a program about this. It actually boosts METABOLISM, not reduce appetite.

sounds like a cruel joke, like Snipe hunting, or drinking a gallon of milk, they just wanna see if you'll do it.
what does work drink a big glass of water, 12-15 ounces (around the size of a can of soda) around 10 minutes before you start eating. Your stomach is slow to react, thats why you always take one or two more bites the are ready to explode. the 10 minute wait is to allow your stomach to feel full, also chew your food a little more, this will give the mind a sense of eating more.

It might reduce your desire to eat entirely. A spoonful of hotsauce on an empty stomach could be painful.
