That's true.
A serving of hot rice may have a calorie or two more than cold rice because of the relationship between sugar chemistry and temperature, but WHO CARES??
Also, servings are made by VOLUME, not weight by 99% of us rice eaters. It's how it looks on the plate that counts, not it's exact weight. So it stands to reason that there are FEWER grains of rice, and hence fewer calories, in the same volume when they are cold and expanded. So that's why hot rice has more calories. Best of luck.

Cold rice has absorbed more water making it bigger thus less actual rice in a serving than hot rice. Example you may have 30 grains of hot rice to 18 grains of cold per teaspoon. Less actual rice less calories.
