Try praying whatever it is to a better place or at least away. Get some anointing oil and pray and thank Jesus He is lord over your home and no one else. Just do not be afraid and remember that He who is in you is stronger then he who is in the world. Let any spirits know that Jesus is the master in this home but do all of this with peace and faith in Jesus.
You may want to bring this up to your minister and ask him if he can come anoint the home. Good luck!

I have heard whoo sounds in old houses before. The sound may be heard coming from the attic when the wind is blowing more than usual. Partially open, loose or broken windows can produce similar sounds as can a tree next to the house that the wind is howling through. Whooing, whistling and howling sounds at night might sound like crying and mourning but are most likely the wind or a bird (perhaps a whip-poor-will) or "peacock" peafowl.
Lights most likely are going off and on because of very low power or very short power outages. Power outages are most common at night when more people are using more lights and heating units when it's cold or cooling with air conditioning in summer.
I seriously believe that you have nothing to fear but fear itself.
I have lived where sounds from farm animals, wild animals and all kinds of birds are commonplace. (I especially know what a peafowl sounds like, I had them for neighbors for most of my life). The peafowl sounds like the crying of a human in deep mourning.
God Bless

Sounds like you got a haint.
I don't know how I would react if things were going on where I live.
But if I thought about it for awhile and the phenomena was non threatening I would hesitate before doing any kind of exorcism.
What if it is spirit of a young woman?
And what if spirit is attached to locale?
Wouldn't it be kind of cruel to have priest or minister come through house splashing holy water and telling the spirit to hit the road?
I don't know what I would do.
But the thoughts I expressed would certainly be taken into consideration.
Have you ever tried to find out the history of the previous owners?
Maybe get idea whose spirit is residing in your home?
edit: I WOULD NOT call ghost hunters or anything like that.
Don't see how harassing poor forlorn spirit to sell advertising
would be helpful.

As a Christian you don't have to be afraid because Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. I would get some Holy anointed oil and a Pastor and some elders to pray over my house, going through each room. Also there is power in the Name of Jesus and you can command those spirits to leave in Jesus Name. Whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever you loose from heaven shall be loosed on earth. So just bind them up in Jesus Name and send them away, and then loose the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God into your home. The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear but of love, freedom and a sound mind. Let His light shine into your home and it will push out the darkness.

The fist order of business is to empower yourself. It's your house and any strange sounds ot voices are unwelcome. Get the attitude up and demonstrate you won't tolerate this. Most of the time and energies will be be repelled by a positive energy defense. You are the boss, however and show no fear. The goal is to scare you. Once you show them they cannot, they usually move on to look for another "victim".

If you are a Christian, then ask your pastor to do a blessing on the house. that should take care of any negative energies, or entities in the house...
of course if the pastor does not believe in what he is doing it could just really piss it off. your best bet is to move. in most states a landlord ahd to disclose if a house is haunted before renting it, or it can be considered a violation of the lease agreement.

Why do you believe because you are christian you shouldn't have "this fear"? Because god will protect you? Either your going crazy, there is a short circuit somewhere that is causing the flashing, the sounds are coming from the house, it is probably older, and houses make noises. Or your house is haunted then you need some weird help and I don't know anyone that can deal with that.

The house could be haunted, its a normal thing if the house was not occupied for a while then, someone moves in.
