I often have the same problem, Im sure its the cold dry winter weather!!
First, i only wash my hair about every other day, there is no reason to wash it daily, it just makes it more dry, make sure you use a moisturizing conditioner, i use herbal essences, i also use a spray on leave in conditioner and that seems to fix the problem.
Also if you blow dry your hair, try not to, that may help also.
good luck to you

I have static all Winter every Winter, and it is a real challenge.
I used to think it was because I wash my hair every day, so maybe that made it too clean. I tried moisturing shampoo, conditioner, hair sprays - anything to dirty it up a little. It is better when it has some spray in it than when its squeaky clean.
I haven't yet found a cure for it. None of the usual things that people say work on my hair. I do use a nylon comb, though, so I'm looking for a wood or metal one. I know nylon may be aggravating the problem.
I wash my hands and gently run them over the hair while they're still damp but not wet. It tames some of the static for "30 seconds or so".
