Windows Vist is better than Windows XP in many respect like better interface, better graphics, better security, networking.
But it consumes large computer resorces because of its 64 bit architecture. Minimum 512 MB RAM is required and at least dual core Pentium processor PC is must for its well functioning.

People's computers are acting funny with Window Vista because their computer is not Window Vista Capable. In order to have window vista in your computer, you need to first find out if its window vista capable. If your computer is no older than 2 years old, than its window vista capable, but if its not, than you cant install the files in the computer to complete the window vista process. Its like forcing a baby to walk. He/she cant, so it'll start crawling

WinXP & WinVista system is not compatible. If you upgrade the WinXP to Vista you're making a big mistake. My advice is consult to the computer expert & they will tell you the difference between the two. If your not expert in computer don't do it without professional ok. But before you bring the computer to computer fixer, be sure that you backup your files. Because sometimes they just upgrade it without back up.

well if you want my opinion about vista, i think it sucks compared to xp, i bought the vista upgrade for my computer, then when i went to run some of my programs they wouldnt run i hate it, vista has some major compatability issues and i think it sucks, and to make matters worst my computer crashed and i lost everything

If your RAM is more than 512 MB, you can install windows vista.

you can not upgrade your XP to vista but you can make your XP look like vista by downloading vista themes for XP like this one (that I'm using)
