Paycycle.com - there is a single $45 fee for filing 1099 Misc.
You did not say which 1099 form you need. The information I give here is all geared to 1099 Misc. My apologies if it does not meet your needs.
The last link below is for Tax Form Pro 1099 Filing Software and 1099 Tax Forms. You have to buy the software.
If you only have a few 1099 forms to do - it's probably best to buy a package from an office supply store. If you file more than 250, you are required to file electronically. I checked on Office Depot, you can't download the 1099 form, but they have many others.
You can purchase sets of 1099 Misc (which one do you need?)forms from Office Depot. click on the link by number 5.
The link below is for the 2006 General Instructions for Forms 1099, 1098, 5498 and W-2G
see page 16
1. How To Get Forms and Publications
Because the IRS processes paper forms by machine (optical character recognition equipment), you cannot file with the IRS Form 1096 or Copy A of Forms 1098, 1099, or 5498 that you print from the IRS website or the CD.
2. click on the second link below for more of the following.
Information Returns can be filed electronically, however, you must have software that can produce the file in the proper format as required by Publication 1220. IRS does not provide an electronic fill-in form option. If you do have the software that can create the file in the proper format and you have a TCC (Transmitter Control Code) you can obtain more information by downloading Publication 3609, FIRE (Filing Information Returns Electronically).

You generally cannot use downloaded 1099 forms. The first page of the 1099 is a special OCR form printed in a special shade of red. These are read by machines at the IRS. There is an explicit warning on the .pdf files at the IRS website that states that you cannot use downloaded forms. You must either order them through the IRS or purchase them from a commercial supplier.

Good ideas very helpful. I was able to fill out a form online yesterday (http://goo.gl/go5W31) you might want to try. It was easy and it works for me.
