i met this guy at a club on a friday and we talked for a little while and we exchanged numbers. the next night he called me and we stayed on the phone from 8pm to 5am. we went out the following tuesday and one thing lead to another and we ended up having sex. dont get me wrong i thought it was great and to tell u the truth i only wanted it to be a one night stand because i had just gotten out of a long serious relationship and i wasnt ready to jump back into another one. well anyway the following thursday we were on the phone and he told me he loved me. i told him there was no way he could be because it was way to soon and he thinks that ppl shouldnt put a time limit on when they shoul fall in love. what do u think?

I don't want to be negative, because I do believe it happens. However, I think people (especially adults) should have a reasonable cap on their emotions.
Sweetie, I've had this happen to me THREE times, and all three times it was short lived. (I decided to give it a try, because you never know. The third time though, I ran like HECK!)
Just from my experience, the guys had a lot of things going on in their lives. They were in unsure areas of their lives, under a lot of stress, and I believe that they were just seeking comfort with me. Meaning, I don't think they were in love, but they saw me as that comfort and compassion they needed. And so, they attached themselves to me because they needed someone in their lives. (Someone they felt they could trust, and who would care for them.)
And really, that's it. "I love you" too soon is a red flag IMO. Watch out!

While he is right that there really is no time limit on when people fall in love. Five days does seem awfully soon for him to be telling you he loves you. Be cautious and get to know each other more. Don't say it back unless you really mean it.

I had a guy propose marriage to me in a club one night, and also professed his love.........almost my sweet, almost. Yes, it's way too soon, I think he's confusing lust with love. There is a world of difference in the two. Just ask serial marrying celebrities.

You can`t help when you fall in love, but you can help when you say it. He should have waited longer to say it. Even if he felt it, it was risky to say it because you might have ran in the opposite direction.
