Since you sleep for almost 8 hours a night, it really all comes down to comfort. Laying on your stomach with your head turned out, makes your back fairly straight, and its easier to breath.

For an adult, you can sleep however you like..if you have back problems then sleep on your back or the fetal position with a pillow between your knees.
For an infant...they should always sleep on their back or side..never on the stomache.

1. Lie on your back, feet stretched for about a foot, hands on your side or folded on your chest.
