never mind home use or companies use,,, i just want to know which is better and why?
is it just secuirty and networking?

Professional is better if you are interested in remote desktop, file sharing, ect. If you're not looking for features, then either will do the same job.

I prefer XP Pro because I am an engineer and Pro gives me greater control over what I want it to do.
XP Home is designed for people who have less general internet and technical knowledge so is set up with wizards and easy to use setup instructions.
Both are good but I prefer Pro for myself.

XP Pro to me is better, one because the OS System Tools are all installed with pro and not with home. Pro versions of all Microsoft software seem to be more stable/secure once optimized and updates installed.

Security, networking and some programs will not run on XP home Edition. eg Nexus Database.
