I'm wondering if I should make the investment

I have a set of original callaway's. The H2S2 Iron - These were made before callaway became big and introduced the first big berthas. I love them and have yet to find a better iron for me. I do think its partly physcological. I have had my irons for 15 years now and if I play shite for a few rounds I dont blame the irons for that. Also it depends on your ability. Callaway has been a sucess for helping the mid- higher handicap golfers as they are easy to hit. For the more advanced played they often feel that the oversized clubs lack feel and control. If cost is your concern then check out Callaways pre owed site. You can get great deals on just about any callaway set ever made (even the H2S2). What I would be wary of is buying the latest Irons out there. Callaway introduce new irons so much that your irons wont be the newest most up to date for long. You are much more likely to get a good deal going for an earlier set. Even a couple of seasons old. They are all soundly made clubs.

But a short answer to your question is 'Yes'. I believe Callaways are well worth the investment (particularly and older model).

i've owned two sets of calloways and really like them a lot. for me they had a large sweet spot and seemed to have lots of bottom weight that helped me get under the ball at impact which helped to get my ball in the air with more ease. i am a big fan of calloway and strongly recommend, although i'm sure there are more than a few purest out there who will give bad reviews.

I'm not a huge fan of Callaway irons, but if you like the way the club looks and feels then go for it. I don't think anyone can say that Callaways are not worth it--they make great irons...probably one of the best irons out.

Try to make it out to a demo day though, if there is one in your area, and see how you hit it.

I've always thought they were a big high. If you haven't hit Mizuno irons, try em.
