I am sorry to say, I don't think it was ever possible to win the war on terror this soon. Even if we had made no mistakes in Iraq (and that was impossible too) the war would have escalated. And it is going to continue getting worse for a while.
I am not saying that the war was a mistake. Some of its goals have been met: No terror attacks on US soil, Saddam gone and democracy started in Iraq (remember the massive participation in the election?), keeping the enemy busy. It was better than doing nothing.

There have been terrorists for generations--centuries, even. The only reason the US went to "war" against them is because of 9-11 ... because for the first time, and in a remarkably huge way, they came after us. But terrorists are not countries. We cannot fight terrorists by fighting countries. In fact, what we need is the ability to make *friends* with countries and work *with* countries in order to exterminate terrorist nests within them, which we haven't done very well with. So no, I would say the US shows no signs of winning the war on terror.

Who do you think the Iraqis hate more. The Americans who would stop fighting if they didn't keep recieving fire, or these tards blowing themselves up in public markets killing dozens of civilians. They are not dumb, Iraqis are going to get more pissed at these militas not letting them live even with an American presence. They know Americans arent crazy and have somthing to live for. Trust me, the insurgents have hardly put a dent in American fighting ability. We effectively have our hands tied.

There were no terrorist attacks aimed at the US or UK from Iraq. The war in Iraq has nothing to do with those attacks. Where have you been.

u know what we have had our positive moments, we captured saddam, executed him, took out his sons, and we killed al zarqwi the leader of the terrorist group in iraq. so it hasnt been a total bust.
