Religion is a form of addiction. The addict will always avoid acknowledging their error. Many former drug addicts go on to this new addiction.

Building new knowledge is PHENOMENALLY easier than contradicting existing knowledge. It's simply a process of "brainwashing" one way or another. When you have a certain worldview, things that contradict it are met with a skeptical light. There's little that can be done without extreme dominance, whether you're using reason or just over the top evangelism. In short, atheists and agnostics or whoever need to become a larger group before they can start... becoming a larger group. It's a Catch-22. Unfortunately, the answer is something along the lines of atheists teaching their kids to be atheist, which doesn't really seem right to many atheists. "The evil is what works" so they say. Personally, I don't have a problem with it, but I don't have a problem with Christians doing it either. But that's just me and my non-confrontational attitude.

Atheist and reason are oxymoron's. Does an atheist know how many grains of sand are on the seashores of the world? Does an atheist know how many stars are in the universe? Can an atheist number the ounces of gold in the earth? If the atheist cannot know these things, then how can the atheist know if there is or there is no God? The most anyone can honestly say is they really don't know, until the mortars start dropping and the firefight is on and you are scared sh*tless. There are no atheists in a fox hole. Each one of us has the knowledge of God buried way deep inside of us. When we are in extreme peril, we know like we've never known before. Normally we are totally unaware of this knowledge we carry. Life is good, isn't it? We are rarely helpless in extreme peril and need God's help. Funny how having one's life on the line ends all debate. At that point, staying alive is the focus, and silly philosophical arguments are not even in mind.

Prophecies: "Be careful that no one misleads you--deceiving you and leading you into error. For many will come in (on the strength of) My name--appropriating the name which belongs to Me-- saying, I am the Messiah, the Christ; and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in place after place; All this is but the beginning--the early pains of birth pangs--of the intolerable anguish. Then they will hand you over to suffer affliction and tribulation, and put you to death; and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. And then many will be offended and repelled and begin to distrust and desert (Him Whom they ought to trust and obey) and will stumble and fall away, and betray one another and pursue one another with hatred. And many false prophets will rise up and deceive and lead many into error. And the love of the great body of people will grow cold, because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this good news of the kingdom (the Gospel) will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end" (Matthew 24:14, emphasis ours).

In a case like that, obviously nothing external would dissuade this person from their faith. It would be wrong to even try though. If this person came to you (either in person, or on this board) and you debated/discussed the topic, the best you can do is give the information you have and hope that they think about what you've said. Let them draw their own conclusions though, because ultimately, they have to live with themselves.

Science does not contradict the bible. Most of these "contradictions" come from misunderstanding / personal interpretation of the scripture.
Most disagreements between science and the bible stem usually from origins. But its not even really science and the bible, its "Theory" vs "Belief," which broken down to its very basic roots becomes an apple and oranges argument.

I want to see a supreme being to come before me and take a hand full of dirt and create a man from it. Until then, Don't believe the hype... People have forgotten that the ten commandments were actually the founding basics to a civilized society. Created by someone who actually used his head...

I'm convinced that to theists believing in crap that defies logic, common sense & reason shows how much "FAITH" they have. What none of them realize is that their so called faith is nothing but conditioned ideas handed to them by either their parents or religious figures.

Oooooh tamper with results. That really made me laugh! You seriously need to take that with a grain of salt. It honestly doesn't affect you, why bother? If you're above the God theory, laugh and move on.

The test of fire will come to "Theists" and "atheists" alike. This life will wear us all down in one way or other. Sorrows will pierce us and joys will uplift us. Do you stand on rock or upon sand? That is all. Because whatever the situation, whoever remains standing in the end, wins. I cannot admit to you here and now that I will be one of those standing, but above all, my deepest wish is for all to endure. The strong should uphold and shelter the weak. Weakness is not always apparent.

What makes you think you should convince them of their error any more than they should convince you of yours. In other words who died and made you God. Don't appeal to me as an Atheists and expect my support for your unethical nonsense. Every one has the right to their own opinions and beliefs. Why don't you just lighten up a bit and pull the drawers out of the crack of your butt they are beginning to bind.
