Ok, so, I am 20 years old and I tend to constantly have to recheck everything I do, I mean my boss has even told me I should stop asking questions because I already know how to do it but the thing is that I just want to keep making sure I did it right. Now besides asking questions all the time I also have to recheck things that I do and I feel I have to straighten things out until it looks good enough for me I mean not everything has to be straightened it's just before I go to bed I want things in it's place. If I don't ask questions or straighten things out in the right angle I get very irritated and I refuse to do ANYTHING until I ask or straighten things out. I am just worried and really paranoid. Could this just be simple paranoia or could it be OCD?

I am 36 years old and have been dealing with this same thing. It was once explained to me that obsessive-compulsive disorder and obsessive-compulsive personality are two different things. The disorder is all consuming and effect the persons life to an extent that they have a hard time living life normally ( like the guy in the movie "As Good As it Gets") Where as obsessive-compulsive personality is someone that shows tendencys but is not totally comsumed by there obsessive compulsive behavior.

My compulsions have changed over the years. Once I spent a year with the urge to have something on my lips. They could not be dry EVER. When I was out of chap stick I would use crisco or cooking oil. When I play computer solitare I have to have the cards go up in the same order everytime, hearts, clubs, diamonds then spades. I prefer to have the Hearts laid on clubs and the diamonds on spades. So I will switch them around until they are perfect. I can't start a simple project like scanning five pictures for a friend because I know that I will start scanning every photo in the house untill they are all scanned in in my computer. I did this once it took me about a week. I would only stop to feed my kids, sleep and use the bathroom.

For the most part my life is pretty normal. My friends and family think I am a bit strange but the average person I come in contact with has no idea.

If you are concerned you should tell your doctor about it.

Relax, relax, relax. Sounds like OCD. I too have suffered from it all my life. Medication is available that will really help you. This is a form of anxiety that you think will drive you nuts. There is a book you should read called "The Boy Who Couldn't Stop Washing." It will provide a lot if insight into what causes this and give you hope that it can be treated. Find a psychologist or mental health clinic where you can get treatment and information. I made a decision that I didn't care what people thought of me, I just knew I had to get help. Boy, am I glad I did! Now I can openly talk about it without fear of judgment. Don't spend the rest of your life in misery. This is an illness. You would seek medical help for cancer, right?? Don't wait another day!!

Do you only feel like that at your job or do you feel like that all of the time? If you have been at your job only a week or two, maybe you're adjusting. If you've been at your job for months and you're asking the same questions over and over, it's possible that it might not be the right job for you and maybe you should look for another one. But if you feel that way all of the time whether you're working or not, and it happens almost every day for more than a month, it might be a good idea to talk to a doctor.
You might have signs of OCD or some other anxiety disorder. If you have true paranoia, that's probably worse than OCD. Maybe you meant paranoid in the sense that you think your boss is watching too much? If that's what you meant, almost everybody feels like that sometime in their lives.

God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

This OCD can be easily cured by this meditation.

It's not OCD. Please people, stop diagnosing yourself with a disease as serious as obsessional compulsive personality disorder. The odds are greater that you catch cancer.
You don't have OCD, you just do crazy things because you are young. You'll mellow out as you get older. Just be smart.

Sounds like OCD, a mild form , so seek some psychiatric treatment. I don't pretend to be a doctor, so you should seek professional help. Worse comes to worse, they will reassure you that it's normal...
