we worked so hard for our own expenses but at the end of the day, most of our earnings end up being borrowed. they always have some sad stories to tell. we couldnt bring ourselves to say no. and bad thing is, they take a loooooooong time to pay. and before they even pay up, they borrowed again. "they" are our siblings. thus we have to go around borrowing to cover our own expenses. both hubby and me doesnt earn much. today is our 1st anniversary. i am so sad cos we cant even celebrate, for obvious reasons.

I'm so sad that you don't have the money to celebrate!

But here's another way of looking at it: if you had $500 to spend on the evening but one of you was in a crabby mood, that would ruin the evening, right? So it's not money that makes the evening.

Make whatever meal you can that he likes a lot, and serve it with lots of smiles and kisses. Talk about what you like about each other. Talk about the first time you met. Talk about something funny or embarrassing that happened. List all of each other's wonderful points. Promise to love each other forever.

You know, I've had 15 anniversaries and honestly can't tell what I did on 14 of them. [For #10 we went to San Diego.] But if we ever did the type of thing I just described, I'd definitely remember it!

I have the perfect Idea. Cook him dinner (if you dont know any good recipe's email me at heartbreaker82203) and you guys just have a very relaxing evening together. Maybe watch a movie or give each other massages... just take it easy. My boyfriend of two years and I are on a tight budget due to school and stuff, so I know what this is like. But just because you can't spend, doesnt mean you cant have some fun!

well, i feel for you, but right now, improvise, whatever you have in your pantry, try to cook something up. break open your nice dinner plates and prepare a candle light dinner with hubby. open up a nice wine tuck away as a gift from someone, watch a nice movie that both enjoy and discuss plan for next year anniversary..

if you live near us, my husband and i can drop by to donate something for you to celebrate your anniversary or even prepare a feast for you, but since we are far away from one another, greeting you is much more easier to do...happy first memorable anniversary and more to come...
