I don't know, I guess we consider it a point of civility here in the free world of the 21st century NOT to slaughter people wholesale for violating Bronze Age superstition.

This still happens in this day and age look at Africa as well as the rise of Hitler. Lets kill everyone who dose not agree with what I think, excuse. Never works, for anyone.Reading the bible makes little difference, for some. I do hope most are smart enough to see how wrong your question is. If your intent is to make Christan's look bad, there are more intelligent ways of doing that.

Yes, the Bible does explain how to deal with that kind of behaviour. However, that was also meant for those who lived in times when God worked more closely with His people.
In my opinion, Jesus Himself explains why we should no longer carry out this kind of judgement. See the verse below.
(John 8:7) So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
When those rules were written, they were origionally applied to the Isrealites who were living within strict rules of conduct, because they were to set the example for God's people. Sin had no place in their society, and because they followed His rules so closely, this kind of judgement (After consultation with a priest/judge who completely knew the laws and, in some cases, spoke to God) was acceptable.
We live in a society now that is so confused and full of sin that we no longer have the right to "cast the first stone", as Jesus put it. If we were to do that, I'm very sure that any other person would be just to do the same to us for something that we have done in the past.
Hope this helps. : )
Blessings and Love,
Sarah

Umm...because, people aren't God. Blasphemy is relative. Just about every episode of Family Guy can be deemed blasphmous by some but, to me, it's funny. You can say something is a sin until the cows come home, that doesn't make it so. I'm sure God or whatever deity will deal with them accordingly. Just worry about yourself and what you do.

Only Jehovah himself is to judge blasphemy and frankly in my opinion, many who lash out at some aspect of the bible are angry at men's actions not God's. Thus only the almighty could judge a person's heart in the manner needed to fully understand the motives behind making such an accusation.

I recall that Bible saying that the only sin that cannot be forgiven is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. May God Bless U.

Who are you planning to torture or put to death? Does it occur to you that by asking such a question in the name of God, YOU could be guilty of blasphemy? Do you really think He can't avenge Himself? Trust God- no one is getting a free pass unless they repent in Jesus.

Do you think that people who don't think the same way that you do should be tortured? What are you Hitler? You are sick and twisted.
This is how the Crusades and the Inquisition got so out of hand
