It's hard to keep sibs from fighting when you don't have the authority your parent would have. My kids don't fight and it's not because I am a super-strict mama - it's because I have ALWAYS stopped things when the problem was teeny-tiny. For instance, when one is a little grouchy at the other, I do NOT let this pass. I just kindly say something like, "Oh my, that didn't sound kind at all." If I ignored this one comment, then the other kid would feel compelled to answer the first one back, and things would escalate. So is there any way you can stop things before a fight develops? What about engaging these kids in fun such that they don't have time to fight?

Sisters and brothers do fight, hopfully less as they get older. Set a good example for them and love them equally. Someday when they grow up hopefully they can laugh about it. My son and daughter are very close now, but fought like crazy growing up.

I'd just follow the Israeli-Palestinian model. They seem to have that peace thing pretty much figured out.
