Our word "demon" comes from the Greek word "DAIMON". Daimons were not necessarily evil.
"For Greeks and Romans, daemons ('replete with knowledge', 'divine power', 'fate' or 'god') were not necessarily evil. Socrates claimed to have a daimonion, a small daemon, that warned him against mistakes but never told him what to do or coerced him into following it. He claimed that his daimon exhibited greater accuracy than any of the forms of divination practised at the time. The Hellenistic Greeks divided daemons into good and evil categories: eudaemons (also called kalodaemons) and kakodaemons, respectively. Eudaemons resembled the Abrahamic idea of the guardian angel; they watched over mortals to help keep them out of trouble. (Thus eudaemonia, originally the state of having a eudaemon, came to mean 'well-being' or 'happiness'.) '

according to etymology, the words angel and demon are totally different. They do originate from greek but have different meanings........
angel: in greek-άγγελος- agelos. it is derived from the verb αγγέλλω-agelo which means to bring a message, to say news or to warn about sth. Thus angel is the messanger, in this case the messanger of god.
demon: δαίμων.. It means god or godess, the deity. Sometimes demon is refered as the destiny. During the 5th century b.c. demons were called the souls of the dead people and they were the links between the gods and the humans.

Demons are of Satan with supernatural power and very real, but Angels are purity sent by our Lord to protect us along with all the power it may need, if any! There is much to gain here, for in Luke 15: 10, "There is rejoicing in the presence of the Angels of God over one sinner who repents." The only category we need to be concerned about, is Where will I spend eternity, Heaven or Hell?/

Demon;
An invisible, wicked, spirit creature having superhuman powers. The common Greek word for demon (dai´mon) occurs only once in the Christian Greek Scriptures, in Matthew 8:31; elsewhere the word dai·mo´ni·on appears. Pneu´ma, the Greek word for “spirit,” at times is applied to wicked spirits, or demons. (Mt 8:16) It also occurs qualified by terms such as “wicked,” “unclean,” “speechless,” and “deaf.”

Yes and no. Angels are God's messengers, servants of His will. They're also called the Watchers, because they watch us. Demons are angels that fell from grace. They followed after the angel Lucifer who sought to usurp God's authority and become higher than God Himself. According to scripture, God has a place reserved for them called Hell. A place for them to be imprisoned for eternity. It's not Lucifer's domain, it's his prison. In the meantime they go to and fro across Earth and even have access still to heaven, for now (Book of Job).

I certainly do not read GREEK, but I imagine that those who translated the BIBLE could do so and separated the GOOD from the EVIL by calling them Demons and Angels. Don't You?? Have a great day!

Demons and Angels are of same beginnings (ANGELS).
When Satan became overly prideful and try to compete with God, 1/3 of the Angels fell from Heaven with Satan as their leader - and are today called demons.

no. angels are good and demons are fallen angels who have sinned. when 1/3 of heaven's angels rebelled they were all disembodied and sent to hell. the remaining loyal angels are holy and living ministers of God. demons are ruled by satan and will only do evil. their main goal is to try to enslave the human race in sin and to try to make them go to hell and seperate us from God. Angels serve God and are sent to protect us and guide us somewhat; mostly the Holy Spirit guides us. They do battle in actual physical combat with demons and always win, especially when we pray. That's why the power of Jesus and God are so grate. Jesus saves us from our sins, and with his blood we can be forgiven and saved from our sins and with repentence be made perfect creatures and worthy to enter God's eternal rest. Jesus died on the cross to annul satan's power of death over mankind and now anyone who chooses not to be opressed can extricate themselves from sin with the power of God and the blood of Jesus. They can also use the blood of Jesus to fight evil and do other miracles and act in place of Jesus as attorney such as rebuke evil spirits and exorcise demons from others.
