...of black ice in the road and she lost control and died at the scene of the accident. While watching the news that evening, I learned of her terrible tragedy and also learned how great of a person she was. She had just gotten her license to practice law...just passed the Bar Exam. She was very talented in that she played the piano and flute. Her family said she was beautiful inside and out. She was a really pretty girl and she looked like she was a good person, going by her picture. She had what everyone thought was a bright future ahead and so much going for her and her family said she was a good girl. Now...WHY does someone like that get taken away and others are left behind that are so mean and have no life...or a total disregard for life because they do drugs, sell drugs, have totaled three cars in five weeks time, only to gain a few bruises and scratches...whereas this fine young lady's life was taken and this makes no sense to me, and YOU ???

and even ME...look at me. I never Knew what I wanted to do with my life...just kinda went with the flow, no big plans like this young lady in question. I can't have kids, I sometimes make bad decisions and I can't hold a job for long because I have conflict with mean people in the workplace all the time. I am 36 years old. I am recently divorced and burdening my parents with my presence until I find a job and place to live. Not that I'm complaining and I surely don't want or wish this for myself or anyone...and yet the girl with the big plans and obvious PURPOSE is the one who is swiped away, vanished, non-existent, unalive, gone from here. I know HERE ain't so good compared to Heaven, but what gives ???

And if our deaths are all random chance and being at the wrong place at the wrong time...THAT is scary to think about. It's a wonder more people aren't phobic. If you think about it hard enough, it's kinda crazy to think we're all here and things happen randomly with no rhyme or reason. That makes sense but it also doesn't. It's makes me feel so vulnerable and scared sometimes.

A Buddhist will tell you that one of the Four Noble Truths is that Life is suffering.
A christian will tell you that it was god's will.
Both will agree that, yes, this is a very tragic accident.
I tend to hold more with the Buddhist here, but without going to deeply into it, take a lesson from this accident. Life is short, and short of committing suicide, no one gets to choose how they exit. Appreciate what you have, because you may not have it tommorrow. Keep your loved ones close, and make the most of your life, because sadly, many people pass unnoticed every day.
EDIT: I'm sorry to sound like an armchair psychologist here, but it seems (from your "additional details") that this news story triggered something personally for you, due to your current circumstances. Maybe you see yourself as the other side of the coin, so to speak. I can't offer up any advice other than what I've already typed above. I do hope that if I'm on the right track here, maybe you can take the lessons from this particular tragedy, and get yourself back on the track you want. If I'm wrong, sorry for the interpretation...

How do you really know she was a good person? Just because someone went to school and their family said they were good doesnt mean they really were... for all you know she could have been an animal abuser, a pedophile, a racist, etc etc etc. People die every day... doesnt matter how good or how bad they are when all the seemingly insignificant choices in your life add up they sometimes equal death... thats it thats all. One day you may choose to leave 5 minutes earlier for work and that could result in your death, or the continuation of your life. It is choices, decisions and the actions resulting from them which determine the time of our death, not how good we are or how bad we are... its all random chance and probability. If you drive for and hour to work every day chances are you will eventually get into an accident thats probability... if you decide to leave early or late thats the choice which can affect the outcome.. doesnt matter if you are a murderer, a good samaritan, a volunteer, a doctor, a lawyer, a rapist or an abuser... we all die and we all make the decisions and complete the actions which lead to our own deaths.

I've asked this same question. I lost my mother and 18 year old daughter in an auto accident about two weeks before Christmas 2001. My mom was a very good Christian person and my daughter was a Christian girl in her senior year in High School. Never nade it to the Prom, never got to graduate, pursue her education or career, get married, have children, etc. WHY?? I have learned that our time/s aren't the same as Gods time. Try to be content in knowing that this life lasts but a moment and we are gone...all of us. Jesus did nothing wrong. If fact, He did everything right, but what did He get for it? If the holy, sinless, Son of God can go through such trial and tribulation, what makes us think we won't? Look at it this way. We WILL see our loved ones again. At that time everything will be perfect. No such thing as pain, over weight, sicknss, poverty, death, war or crime.. All will be greater than we can express. This time will last FOREVER. What's forever? Lets say a grain of sand stands for, or equals, 1000 years. How much time would one hand full of sand equal? Millions of years? Now how about each and every grain of sand on every beach, everywhere throught the whole world? There isn't a number big enough to measure it. Heaven will last longer than that. Why did it happen? I don't know. Will we know someday? Yes. Are they, will we, be better off? Yes. We don't understand, but God does. This is a sinful world and sin (all sin, not just theirs) has ruined what God made and had intended.us to have. A sinful world equals tragedy.Maybe we should concentrate and give thanks for the good things we had and have and try not to dell on the bad things. No one said this life was going to be fair and everything was going to be good. It's very VERY tough. I know this first hand but I have comfort in knowing it's not over. I WILL SEE THEM AGAIN...I'll be with them again and that time will be beautyful and last forever. You might want to read the book "Why Bad Things Happen To Good People" I think it will help you in many areas of your life. Hope this helps. God Bless You...

* Things just happen in this life. We do not always understand it. I do know what you are getting at though. It makes you sick to see good people suffer while bad people have it easy, or so it seems.
Deat happens. we all are going to die sooner or later. Personally I believe in reincarnation, and one theory is that we pick each life and the problems we have for lessons to be learned.. We even pick they way we are to die and the age and date, but of course we do not remember choosing these things, but if we get into drugs, or if we commit suicide we are not learning the things we are meant to learn, so we are reincarnated again in the exact same situations until we live and learn those things.
On a different note some of your comments reminded me of me. I am 54 and have gone through many jobs adue to the exact same reason you said. I am unemployed right now and my lovely wife is supporting my lazy behind, but I am hoping to get some money soon and learn to drive a truck and be a truck driver for the rest of my working days.
I had my first motorcycle wreck last June and it should have killed me but it did not. i have ridden 37 years without a wreck and I sometimes wonder why i lived, I am glad I did, I love life, but I wonder why? Especially when it would have been a lot better on my wife if I had died, she would have got plenty of money and be set, but she is burdened with supporting me and the hospital is hounding her for &28,000.00 for just one night.
So you see I do understand what you are getting at, but driving is dangerous and we have to be careful, and even then that is not enough sometimes. Life is dangerous.*

I find it offensive to try and out guess the wisdom of God. Rather you believe in him or not. Life and death are based on acts of evolution, rather you are a good or bad human or the deer who runs in front of the car. It is not based on who was good and who was bad. the Bible says we are all born into sin. So do we all deserve to die? No. Or is God keeping some sort of score with everyone and the deeds they live by? I don't think that much either. I believe as it is written, "That it is appointed unto man once to die then after that, judgment." Not basing it on anything beyond that. I think it is not for us to try and guess who should die and why, and when, and etc., etc., As death holds no favorites. We as humans still morn the death of good people. It's in our nature. Perhaps that is why we should just continue to look for the good in the memories and not in trying to figure out why they died. Lets leave that up to God. And just live life as best we can.

I lost control of a car went down 60 ft through thick wooded trees
rocked and reeled all the way and hit a tree, totaled the car.
Two Dr's said I should be dead. Was paralyzed for a few days
Thing is, God warned me for three days not to go and I did it anyway.
God warns us if we are sensitive enough to listen.
My cousin died just like that girl last year, my nephew died in a car accident, went to sleep, and a logging truck smacked his body to pieces. Why did he get on the road when he needed sleep?
Why was the girl driving on black ice? why didn't she stay home?
My dear, we take things into our own hands and pay the consequences, even death.

Her life had meaning. She certainly affected the lives of others as she had been thru so many things to complete her studies. We have no idea what her standing with GOD was but we do know that she meant a great deal to her parents and friends. She made a difference even in your life now. Don't you think that it matters that she did this for you and me? I DO! Get a BIBLE and begin reading and studying. This time is certainly an important time for you to do so.
Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
HEAR - Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
BELIEVE - To the Prison guard in Acts 16:31 Paul and Silas said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
REPENT - Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.
CONFESS CHRIST - Matthew 10:32 "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.
BE BAPTIZED - Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL - Revelation 2:10b Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Send me a note if you have questions. I am anxious to hear from you. Have a Great day.

Time and unforeseen circumstances happen to good and bad alike.
Ecc. 9:11 I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all. 12 For man also does not know his time. Just like fishes that are being taken in an evil net, and like birds that are being taken in a trap, so the sons of men themselves are being ensnared at a calamitous time, when it falls upon them suddenly.

She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's it, rarely do we get what we deserve, we get what we go out and earn and take and everyone is enslaved to time, odds, probablities, and bad luck. If you try to answer your question, well, you never will. I look at it this way. We have such a negative feeling about d e a t h, because so much is lost and the family is in pain, but she will be remembered and always have love. BUT, the person is OK and in a better place, Earth is just one stopping ground.

Sarah Palin, Rush, Glen, Fox News and Boehner should all apologize. Vitriolic speech is anti democratic. These people need to take responsibility for their actions. Of course the far right wing nuts and tea baggers see no connection between their hate speech and violence....they used this illogic to justify their hate speech over the past two years. After this event they can no longer hide. words and speech have consequences.
