hard way. What should I do?

2007-02-02 17:02:24 · 9 answers · asked by jeenkag 1 in Family & Relationships Family

My dad did expect some things from me so I am not totally unmotivated.

Basically she never expected me to do any chores. She even insists that she do them if I ask her: what should I do to help out. Also taught me stupid things like how it's good to help slackers, etc.

IM PRETTY MUCH LIKE YOU,NOBODY EXPECTED ME TO DO ANYTHING RIGHT.My parents thought i was going to end up with no school ,no job ,and end up no were good .I wanted to prove them wrong so i got my act together and got myself a job,got enrolled back in school which is my last year and straight A'S .Im 18 about to turn 19 in a few months ,they also thought i was going to leave with my boyfriend and get pregnant ,but no im still here with my parents and a new boyfriend who is supporting me in anyway he can.
I didnt think this way a year ago .before i was not thinking much about my future untill I started thinking i didnt want to end up being a looser and regretting everything like not finishing school or being a teen mom .Thats when i woke up and if i have to learn the hard way. i dont care it would be worthit. It would prepare me for the future and all those problems yet to come.Im just trying to live my life the best way i can without any regrets.

It's called growing up. We all learn from our mistakes this never stops. We just hope we make fewer as we get older and more mature which usually happens. They are called Life lessons. Just remember there are always consequences for our actions. Think first, and don't be impulsive.

Hey don't feel bad. Your mother may have suspected something of you but never sat and told you how she felt. Some parents don't want to ruin the dream that their children have and then there are others that just don't care to know what their childs dreams are made of. Whatever you plan to become, do it with great dignity and show your mother that you are someone and you did that to see her smile. I may have made sense or maybe not,but I feel what you are feeling.

That is sad. I was very strict with my kids and they turned out very well. Now you will have to set goals for yourself. Where do you hope to be 5 years from now? Make a plan to get there. Go to college or get the training you need. It is your life and you will have to push yourself to get a decent future.

When you say everything, what is everything?

street smarts?
Or things like taking out the trash, making your bed, etc.

You sound like a smart guy.

Learning things dont have to be hard.
I didnt learn everything from my parents.

Life is hard... if you don't have the support of your mom, you need to have good friends who believe in you and actually push you to succeed.
