I'm looking for a credit card. I don't want one that will start me with a low interest rate and then automatically jump it to a high rate just so that they can get money off of me, even if I am paying the balances. I'm a student and not too familiar with all the credit options. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

I'd say Capital One.

btw, if you pay off your balance in full every month, the rate won't come into play. But read the fine print, if you think you might miss even one payment at any time, there are many cards out there that will kick that rate to their scam default rate of 19%-29%. (NUTS).

All credit cards have variable rate interest. Credit Cards usually allow a grace period on purchases. Thus, if you buy something, as long as you pay it off in full when the bill comes, you won't have to pay any interest at all.

College students usually don't have much credit or stable income. They are risky for card companies, and therefore charge a premium rate on purchases that aren't paid off on the bill each month. They have to charge up to make up for other students who simply don't pay their bill.

CitiBank and Bank of America have good college card programs. Also, consider joining a credit union.

there are no good credit cards if you are already to this point you can buy credit start , but if you at this point better off paying cash and checks. This way if you bounce a check you know right where you are , pay the fees . you'll learn how fast you if you want, get someone to cosign a loan pay it off early. If you have too do it several times . don't put yourself out there with a small card , start at $2,500.don't get any smaller, either way buy it earn it your going to pay for it. those easy way pays someone else to send there kids to col ledge.

I don't think any credit card will guarantee you low interest rates.

Keep your payments on time and don't go too far into debt and you should be fine.
