I am 14 years old, and have alot of experience in children ages 5-10 and a little in children ages 1-4. I am home schooled meaning that I can work odd hours(10am-9pm). Anyone have any ideas for getting my babysitting jobs. Also I don't charge alot, I usually talk with the parent on finding out a price that is right for the amount of hours and days a week.

Make flyers.. put ads in the paper... get certified, when u are certified ur name goes on a list at ur chamber of commernce and when ever someone needs a babysitter they can call the C.C. and then they will give ur name and number to that person... good luck!

Make a bulletin to put at local places like grocery stores. Also, if you have any current people you babysit for tell the parents you are available to work more so if they have any friends who need a good babysitter to let them know. The best way to get known is by word of mouth so that would be really helpful. Good luck !

most community centers have public notice boards, where anyone can post anything. about garage sales, fundraisers, whatever. that would be a great place to post an ad about yourself, like a mini resume and what you are looking for. if you do that, be sure to put your name and phone number vertically many times at the bottom, and then you can cut slits between each one so they can just tear it off and have that info.

you can also ask the parents that you are currently working for, or have in the past, to spread the word about you if they know of anyone who might be interested. word of mouth is the best advertising for babysitting.

good luck!!

Ask your parents to talk to any of their friends from work that need a baby sitter for a few hours, do a good job and they'll ask you back. I used to babysit to make my lil change and I liked it. I sat for my mom's friend's kids and they were o.k., but it worked out and I watched them a few more times. Usually if a parent likes you they will ask you to sit for them more rather than sitting for a whole bunch of people and then they will start to pay you more.

Make a nice little sign and go to local elementary schools and ask if you can post it on their billboards.

Also you can make fun little business cards (buy them at Target) and hand them out to people you see with kids in the grocery store, at church, etc.

Make fliers and ask to hang them up in businesses in your neighborhood and church. Put a contact phone number on it that people can tare off easily. Put an add in the newspaper.

put an ad in a free publication, like a local events mag. Or try putting up signs at colleges, groceries, etc, but make sure you get permission.

tell all of the parents you babysit for to tell all of their friends who have children, also get your parents to tell their friends.
whatever you do, do NOT put up signs or anything because there are a lot of creeps out there.
anyways, good luck!
