Here is my son talking not me: What does it feel to be popular? I mean I know like 10 people that are heck of popular(one even a singer) that kinda sorta pick on me. Is it because I only play rated E games, or because I 'm just a new kid? (ever since augest of last year). How does it feel to be popular? and What can I do to get a taste( I don't care if it's just for one second) of it? I'm 12 I don't like those rated m games also i'm a b avrege 6th grader.

im glad you are helping your son through yahoo answers. you will feel special too since you are getting attention from the public. would you tell your son that being popular takes guts and sense to be one. i think he got what it takes since he is bold enough by asking your assistance.

tell him that as long as he study hard, get his grades higher than anyone, be good and volunteer extra times with his teacher, keep his assignment complete all the time, that will make makes him noticeable. if he likes sports, try to join and make friends. that will put him on that popularity list.

if you are popular, its hard to stay that way, cause other will look up to you. you have to maintain certain ways, attitude and always updated on everything. if you can handle it that way, wish for it. but if not, just be yourself.

when i was young, i know this girl, she don't want to be popular but for some reason, she is always getting attached with it. you know the reason?she study hard and get good grades and exam all the time. she's not pretty or rich but other tends to lean on her, so she keep up on studying hard not for them but for herself. when she reach college years, she don't show off, but she always ended up on the top. so the secret? study hard, be yourself, do what you want and what you like, you will eventually be the popular in good ways better than anything else.

Well, being so young, popularity will change a lot. As you get older the "popular people" change. But popularity is just another phrase for being a sell-out. You pretty much give away your morals so people recognize you. A lot of teenagers do that so be recognized in high school, but remember, once you graduate high school, NONE OF THAT MATTERS! It might be hard to look at now, but in the long run, it's not worth it to sell your morals for a moment in the spotlight. I had a lot of friends who that happened to, and no that they are graduated they regret it. Don't let the drama of teenagers get to you. Just know you do what is right, and in the long run, it will be a lot more worth it then being "popular." Also, people do things to be popular but lose one very important thing. That is respect. Eventually you only playing those E games, doing those good things, will work for your cause. You'll be a good kid, people will know they can trust you because you didn't "sell out," and people will respect you. Respect is a lot, A LOT more important the popularity.

What do it feel like to be popular? Well, first of all, people always know who you are and watch you a lot. Sometimes, they want to get the latest gossip on you because the are jealous. At some schools, people start rumors about the popular people. "Ordinary people" try to be like them. Most people act fake so they can get some of the attention.
The people pick on you because they want to feel superior. They need to feel superior. Sometimes, they only live to make people's live miserable. What do this mean? They have no life and future. If you can, ignore them and/or avoid them. Don't pick a fight because the "popular" people always get the crowds support. It's not fair, but that is how things are.

Don't worry about not being popular!!!! I was not popular in school. I was quiet and kind of nerdy. I always wanted to fit in with the "in crowd". My best friend in high school was a cheerleader and popular. Her life turned out no better than anyone else. At my class reunions I run into the "popular kids". They are fat, old, bald and boring now and try so hard to be nice to me and others they treated badly. Guess who is happy, stable and has all the fun!!!!!! ME! Hang in there and just be yourself. Try to get along with everyone and say the heck with them!!!!
Kelli
P.S. I'm 49 and had plenty of experience!!!!!!!

I think that it feels not very good. "Popular" people are much more insecure than you'd think. They have to worry about their popularity being usurped by some petty thing that may or may not be within their control. They don't feel comfortable to be themselves -- because they think that people don't like them for who they really are. And they learn, too late, if they have the courage to be friends with a variety of people (not just those that are "just like them"). It's hard to believe but I it is true, to a certain extent. Learn to be who you are and to be happy being who you are! (Geek is chic, didn't you hear?)

You know what helped make me popular? Selling drugs. Well, at least I'm hoping it does. I just bought 10 ounces of weed for five bucks.

I'm going to make a lot of friends soon, and we'll all sit around and talk about how funny Half Baked is, and how Phish can really jam, you know? Then we'll just get nostalgic for other times we got high and start recounting those experiences. It's gonna be great.

hey. i dont think you're not popular because you play e rated games, or you're the new kid. to be popular is like, not about how many friends you have or how rich you are. it's about who you are as a person. if you're too shy to talk to someone because they're popular, it's probably because it's a lack or self confidence? i'm not totally popular, but i'm not afraid to talk to whoever i want. ohh yeah, join a sport, to meet new people. challenge yourself to talk to the people that you normally wouldn't... stay kOoL.

Hey, man. Don't worry about those kids, they probably just don't have anything better to do. When I was your age (which was only 5 years ago), I got picked on too - until I learned to stand up for myself. As soon as I quit tolerating it, people quit picking on me and started accepting me more as a 'butt-kicker' (which is what we called it then). Anyway, just show those lame kids who's boss - stand up for yourself at school and make friends with them afterward :)

Good luck =) [It sucks to be picked on, i feel your pain]
