Freud thought of it as anchored in instinctual desires and comparable to a child's neurosis but some psychologists now have said the world is more closely related to schizophrenia.
What ever the defect it is not as innocuous as it seems to be.
Einstein thought that the mark of insanity was the repetition of the same thought and action with expectations of new results ..
this is incredibly parallel to the doomsday message of fundamentalist or maximists that have been up dating the end for over a thousand years . A minor lack of touch with reality is sometimes referred to as schizoid but is it really minor or just silly

The world is a scary place. There is war, famine, disease, global warming. Not to mention the fact that all of us, including our loved ones, will die some day.
Because of this, many people grasp on to the idea that God is in control of everything. To take it a step farther, ALL THE HORRIBLE, SCARY THINGS NOW OCCURRING are all part of God's plan, and soon, it will all be over, and life will be wonderful.
This is not how I read God's plan either. I too am anxious about all the problems in the world, but feel, as a Christian, that, come what may, I will live each day trying to make the world a better place.
peace

I have no idea! It's not like if they're right that they'll get proper credit. I think it's just ego thing, like they figured something out that others couldn't. People have sold all their wordly goods listening to morons like this. Funny, because the bible says not to try to predict that. If these people are so Godly, why did they skip that part and listen to Mr Doom?
The new one is the world will end in 2012. My ex used to say that because if you look up moon phases, they stopped at 2012. They can predict them after 2012 of course but, that was his end times idea. He's an idiot by the way. lol

What's silly is people thinking they can put a date on it. Jesus said that while there would be signs "the end will come as a thief in the night". We are not privy to God's timetable. But- I believe we are in the end times. Whether we have ten minutes or two hundred years left, I wouldn't presume to say.

What's wrong with you? Why are you and some others so fixated on this section knowing R&S would include Christianity also? What Christians are saying is that almost all of the signs are occuring to usher in the last times. It has to get much worse though. Why does what Christians think bother so many when you don't bother me past this point? Many need to realize this is STILL A FREE COUNTRY.

Everybody always believes they are living in the end times. It's understandably so too. I don't think it takes a genius to look around at the human race to realize that we are self-destructive. I say, who cares if we are. Nothing you can so, enjoy what you have left rather than focusing on the fact that you don't have that much left.

In the Book of Daniel in the Bible it talks about "God's time" and "man's time" and "prophet's time". Well, we know what "man's time is"...a little. The other two...no clue. So as far as a time frame for the end of the world...we dont' know it. I still want to live and be happy and enjoy my family and children and grow my garden in the spring. And I'm going to do that as long as I'm able.

I believe the Lord will come very very soon, but for the sake of aurgument lets just say he might not. But no man knows the number of his days, so since eternity is at stake don't you think ppl should live like we are in the last days? No man knows the day or hour his own soul will be called away.

brainwashed! it is only the end of times if we don't stop killing this planet. not because of what some nuts think. we need to stop worrying about what some 2 thousand year or so stories say.

They don't understand that people have been predicting the 'end times' for millenia and that their bible is not more factual than a mother goose book.
What about those who insist the world is 6000 years old because the bible says, "to God, one day is 1000 years and 1000 years is a day" and thus, the 6 days God took to create the world equate to the world being 6000 years old? Um... that's 6000 years old from when, exactly? At what point does that 6000 years start? Did it start when the bible was written? Or is it a rolling 6000 years? Because I first heard people tell me that 2 years ago, so is it now 6002 years old?
Ugh. Lord, save me from your followers!
