Do whatever you feel your conscience allows you to.
If this logic appeals to you, then I think we should start by practicing it upon you and yours.
You see, even after the law, Jesus and the disciples re-iterated the fact that killing, stealing lying and so on, are still sins. It is the sabbath law that was not continued, along with the priest class, animal sacrifices and so on.

All the old laws expired when Jesus did, but that wasn't the end of it.

Before the commandments, we had the natural law ... call it instinct if you like ... which guides all men in their dealings with others.

Because the natural law is said to be "written on the hearts of men" by their creator, it never expires, nor can it ever be in conflict with any of God's other laws.

Before Jesus died, he gave us a new commandment ... two actually ... which were to supercede all the others ... love God ... love your neighbor.

These were never meant to expire, and they didn't, but they were to be the basis for the new and better covenant that Christ would give to us.

From the moment Christ died, only this new, 2-part commandment was operational, as all the others were set aside once they were perfectly fulfilled by Jesus.

Later, the new covenant universal church, the same one known as Catholic today, under the powers and authority given to them by Christ, decided to readopt and readapt the original ten commandments to the existing new covenant realities.

One of the most significant changes resulted from the realization that Jesus Christ was in fact, the image of a heavenly thing, and as such, the language of the old 2nd commandment would have prohibited anyone from worshipping him.

A council was called to deal with this matter, and the bishops, along with the pope, agreed that since it was now possible to experience God in a defineable and knowable form, which is Christ, the Logos, the image of his Father in heaven, that the old prohibition against graven images had served it's intended purpose, and could now be retired.

From that point forward, sacred art and statuary became a primary teaching tool in the life of the church, and a great aid in passing along the authentic oral and written traditions of Jesus and the apostles, to a largely illiterate world.

So today, we still have the natural law, Christs's new commandment(s) plus the church's 10 commandments, and half a dozen (or so) church precepts.

And none of them allow killing, stealing, or telling fibs.

I thought God created the Sabbath at the end of the creation week, about 1500 yrs. before there even was a jew. Isnt it funny that the only commandment people want to throw away is the one that expressly deals with the worship of God the creator?

Isn't that what Jews are already doing against the Arab Palestinians?

Deu 20:16 Whenever you capture towns in the land the LORD your God is giving you, be sure to kill all the people and animals.

Deu 20:10 Before you attack a town that is far from your land, offer peace to the people who live there. If they surrender and open their town gates, they will become your slaves. But if they reject your offer of peace and try to fight, surround their town and attack. Then, after the LORD helps you capture it, kill all the men. Take the women and children as slaves and keep the livestock and everything else of value.

No.

It is true that for Christians, Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses.

Christians are not held to the ceremonial parts of the Mosaic Law concerning of dietary purity and temple worship.

Christians are held to the moral law of God, some of which is expressed in the Ten Commandments.

However Jesus took the Ten Commandments to the next step summarizing them into the two Great Commandments:
+ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.
+ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

And teaching things like
+ Everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
+ Everyone is our neighbor including our enemies.

Therefore we have to go much farther than the original recipients of the Ten Commandments ever dreamed.

With love in Christ.

Palestinians were offered Ottoman lands for their own uses in '49. They refused the partition and began attacking ancient Jewish lands acquired legally through purchases and Ottoman-approved settlements because they were refugees and pilgrims. Only a cruel person who favoured Nazi activity in WWII would oppose their taking back their own lands, which were taken by the Roman Empire. The country of Palestine has never existed. Five Arab nations backed up Palestine's unjustifiable attack--Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq--and invaded illegally. It was an act of aggression against an independent country.

Remember that Ottoman and Arab are two different groups of people--Turkish citizens do not consider themselves Arab and only three percent of their populace is Arab.

It is time that Arab leaders got their facts straight and stopped focusing on the destruction of Israel. Soldiers and civilians on both sides have suffered needlessly. Egypt and Jordan have made peace and moved on. I realize it is not the fault of the Lebanese that they face this situation, but they have never cracked down on militant groups in the South. It is their responsibility because it is an international issue, a violation of international law, a threat to another nation's security and illegal. They keep trying to get to Jerusalem, which is an inalienable part of Israel.

The refugee problem is sad but why haven't Western and Arab leaders helped them? They chose to leave because their Arab leaders told them to and were given land but refused to settle it. They started a war for no reason other than false claims of injustice. Surely Arab leaders could do better by their own people by focussing on poverty, civil rights, housing developments and other issues in their own countries.

They expect them to move mountains and then violate security and peace agreements and then wonder why Israel is in their backyard. This is hardly an ideal way to live but someone like Yasser Arafat went on and on about the right of return for Palestinian refugees WHEN THEY CHOSE TO LEAVE FOR OTHER COUNTRIES. It is ridiculous to expect Israel to allow its own land to be used for another nonexistent country's refugees. If they want a country so badly, why didn't they just sign an agreement for it in the early nineties?
