I heard somewhere u can use ur didtal camera as ur webcam too. Is it true? My decision to purchase a digital camera may depend on this! Plese advise!

no, it won't. Many cameras do not support anykind of software that allows them to act as a webcam. I am sure of this, as i had the same question as you, and i wanted a camera that could be a standard digital camera (3,4,5 megapixels) and a webcam, but unfortunatly such a thing does not exist. The only way that you could have both, is that you could go buy one of those fake digital cameras for children. they can be both a digital camera (although a very very poor quality one- with no zoom) and a webcam. UNfortunaly, there is no camera that is a webcam and a decent digital camera.

It depends on how many megapixels there are, the shutter speed, and the lens. A little coolpix isn't going to take quality photos the way a rebel might, for example. I have an old (a few years old anyway, with the way cameras are being produced now it's considered old) kodak, easy share 12 mp, and 10x optical zoom. It's not that great, i actually traded it and i wish i had kept my original camera. I never use it, though. I usually use my phone, although the quality isn't as good its always with me. Unlike my camera.
