About a week and a half ago, I slipped in the bathtub and
hit my side where my ribcage is on the side of the tub. It
hit hard and knocked my breath out for a minute, after I
calmed down a little, my breathing was ok but I decided not to go to the doctor because I have no insurance. It is still so sore I can't stand my pants buttoned, my stomach
is even sore. Wearing a bra hurts my ribs. Any suggestions on anything that might help? I know my bones aren't in the greatest shape being in menopause,
any suggestions?

Insurance or no insurance, you need to see a doctor because you could have damaged the stomach. If the rib is broken, you can't do anything about it but let it heal and place itself back with the rest of the cage.

Well, I have to say I agree with other answers should really go see a DR, But in the absence of that they do have rib belts you can use it puts pressure on your injured area and makes things like taking a deep breath and coughing easier to deal with. also OTC Ibuprofen anti-inflammatory could help, Heat alternated with ice every 4 hours for 30 min might help. But I have to tell you it worries me that your pants make you hurt as well as a Bra. but if it's been a week and a half would guess even if broken not done any lung damage as if it had you would have seen your DR in the emergency room by now.

Well I pretty much figured what's the point in reading this paragraph. If you're injured and it's not something that will pass, see a doctor.

I would bite the bullet and go to see a doctor because they would know what is best for you to do and you can avoid prolonging your pain and hopefully get fixed up sooner, good luck.
