as with dogs if you do not establish dominance from the beginning it is more than likely your pet will turn u into their own personal servant.

I don't think that many people get to know cat behavior. Cats are not pack animals so they do not need a "leader". However, they are not the independent, cold creatures that people think they are. You need to teach them that you are the boss by copying the same behavior they use. They respond very well to hissing, yowling in anger, purring and eye contact. Dogs are motivated by "treats" and cats are not. I have 26 and if a fight breaks out all I have to do is hiss and they stop. I don't let any of them get higher than my head which makes me alpha cat. This may sound silly but I have seen the results. It is just so easy to believe the common idea that cats are cold and dogs are all love & stuff. My cats come to me for attention constantly and greet me at the door when I come in, and respect the rules of my territory, etc. As with all animals, you need to learn the language.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that cats think humans are their servants. I don't think anyone really knows for sure why this is. Maybe cats are the masters on a different planet. Who knows?
I think cats acknowledge humans as the leaders of their realm the same way humans acknowledge cats as the "kings of the jungle". Can you say meow?

Cat believe they are the Masters because you do everything for them. Most dogs have to work for a living Farm dogs, Hunting dogs, Guard dogs, etc. All of which you must teach them so they learn that ability while learn that ability they learn that you are Master. Cats only peruse is to look pretty for show or just to keep you company. There for there is nothing to teach them. So you feed and water them, you clean their litter boxs, you brush them, etc. You teach them nothing you pamper them. So when you are petting them they think why are rewarding you for being their caretaker.

I'm not so sure that my cat thinks I am his servant. To me he treats me like a mommy, needing things and giving me love. Cats are much more independent than dogs are, yet if you treat a cat like you would most dogs, they will not stand for it, and will not trust you, where dogs will always come back. They are mysterious little creatures these cats! Hope this helps ya out.

I don't look at it that way. Consider this. How can a cat get out of the house if it cannot open a door? Can it go to the store and get food? Sure they want things when they want it. So do most of us humans. My only wish is that my cat would make up her mind as to go out or not to go out the opened door. I don't give it much time, I go about my own business until I see that she is really interested!

Cats are very smart animals spite what most people think.A cat can train you to do whatever they want. They are helpless and they like you to know what they need.I have 4 cats and I'm constantly running after them. One needs the kitty litter clean by 10 am or its cry city till you do it.One wants fed by 7am he will knock things on the floor in the bed room until you get up and feed him. They just know what they need and that you will do anything for them at whatever time they want it.I get up 3 times in the night because of one or the other. But I do it cause I love my cats.

Of course, they believe we're their servents. When you go pick up a new cat they see it as a job interview, you wanting a job of taking care of hime and being his servant. The cat feels he'll pay you with once in a while showing affection lol. Cats will be Cats

I sometimes think so. When my cat wants some thing special like a treat or her favoured food she'll keep winding round and round my feet when I'm in the kitchen. But they are so cute you just have to give in to what they want. I believe my cat know who's the boss,

If I let my cats get away with it, they will run me crazy. They scratch at the basement door to go down there, then 5 minutes later they are begging to come back up. And the whole cycle begins again. They are like kids. If they can get away with it, they will. So, I put something on the door so they can't make the noise and then I ignore them until I make the decision that they can come back up.
