I think friends before lovers, because it never works out if your try to be friends with an ex.

I would say friendship before lovers , so that you can build ur friendship with the person first and also get to gain their trust so u know u can trust them and then u get to be lovers .

Friends before lovers worked for me. I met my fiancee and couldn't touch him for a year. We talked on the phone quite often. Since all we could do was talk we learned each other and became each other's bestfriend. He knows me better than anyone else in the world and I know him better than anyone else in the world. We are now in love and engaged. Our relationship is based on more than sex and the physical aspect, it's based on trust, communication and friendship.
