Actually, lilith is in the bible, one time (Isaiah 34:14). But the word is usually translated in some strange ways (the KJV says "screech owl". But there is no Lilith in the Creation story.
Basically, like many other demons mentioned in the Bible, Lilith was a local Mesopotamian goddess/demon. Perhaps the Israelites learned about her in Babylon. In any event, in addition to her mention in scripture, she is mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Talmud. But the legend of her being the first wife of Adam didn't appear until the 9th or 10th century, in "The Alphabet of Ben-Sira". Here is a summary from Wikipedia:
After God created Adam, who was alone, He said, 'It is not good for man to be alone' (Genesis 2:18). He then created a woman for Adam, from the earth, as He had created Adam himself, and called her Lilith. Adam and Lilith immediately began to fight. She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one.' Lilith responded, 'We are equal to each other inasmuch as we were both created from the earth.' But they would not listen to one another. When Lilith saw this, she pronounced the Ineffable Name and flew away into the air.(In this act, Lilith becomes unique in that she is not touched by Original Sin, having left the garden before Eve came into existence. Lilith also reveals herself to be powerful in her own right by knowing the name of God).

Adam stood in prayer before his Creator: 'Sovereign of the universe!' he said, 'the woman you gave me has run away.' At once, the Holy One, blessed be He, sent these three angels Senoy, Sansenoy, and Semangelof, to bring her back. "Said the Holy One to Adam, 'If she agrees to come back, fine. If not, she must permit one hundred of her children to die every day.' The angels left God and pursued Lilith, whom they overtook in the midst of the sea, in the mighty waters wherein the Egyptians were destined to drown. They told her God's word, but she did not wish to return. The angels said, 'We shall drown you in the sea.'

"'Leave me!' she said. 'I was created only to cause sickness to infants. If the infant is male, I have dominion over him for eight days after his birth, and if female, for twenty days.' "When the angels heard Lilith's words, they insisted she go back. But she swore to them by the name of the living and eternal God: 'Whenever I see you or your names or your forms in an amulet, I will have no power over that infant.' She also agreed to have one hundred of her children die every day. Accordingly, every day one hundred demons perish, and for the same reason, we write the angels names on the amulets of young children. When Lilith sees their names, she remembers her oath, and the child recovers."

Lilith then went on to mate with Samael and various other demons she found beside the Red Sea, creating countless lilin.

There is much more info in the Wikipedia article.

There is no reference to "Lillith" or anything close to that in the Bible. Sounds to me that this is a fictional character someone devised.

As far as the Bible account goes, Adam and Eve were the first two humans created. All other humans decended from Adam and Eve. The first human couple were cursed when they sinned against God. (see Genesis 2:7-3:20 for the actual bible account of the human creation and first sin)

I hope this helps you.

The story insinuates that lilith was made of the same stuff as adam. As a result, she was dominant. Adam didn't like that (nor that she wanted to be on top during sex) so adam bitched to god about it and got lillith thrown out of eden. Adam requested a better female that was made out of a PART, the rib, of adam. A "lesser" being. It is in the jewish bible, omitted from the christian one.

Later came eve.

Lilith became scorned and appeared many times in the bible after that eating first borns and stuff. (Hence the saying 'hell hath no fury than a woman scorned')

Also that is the first account of gender bias which has been pressed through generations of a male dominated world.

Lilith was the first feminist. It was propaganda that she was a demon. Hence the Women's jewish magazine called lilith, and lilith fair etc. Those people understand that. It is just a story used to keep women in their place

"One story is that God created Adam and Lilith as twins joined together at the back. She demanded equality with Adam, failing to achieve it, she left him in anger. This is sometimes accompanied by a Muslim legend that after leaving Adam Lilith slept with Satan, thus creating the demonic Djinn."

"In another version of the myth of Lilith, she was Adam's first wife before Eve. Adam married her because he became tired of coupling with animals, a common Middle-Eastern herdsmen practice, though the Old Testament declared it a sin (Deuteronomy 27:21). Adam tried to make Lilith lie beneath him during sexual intercourse. Lilith would not meet this demand of male dominance. She cursed Adam and hurried to her home by the Red Sea."

It's a myth as far as I know.

There are un-Biblical legends that Adam had a wife before Eve who was named Lilith. The legends vary significantly, but they all essentially agree that Lilith left Adam because she did not want to submit to him. According to the legends, Lilith was an evil, wicked woman who committed adultery with Satan and produced a race of evil creatures. None of this is true. There is no Biblical basis whatsoever for these concepts. There is no one in the Bible named Lilith. Genesis chapter 1 does not record the creation of Lilith with Genesis chapter 2 recording the creation of Eve. Rather, Genesis chapter 2 is a "closer look" at the creation of Adam and Eve as recorded in Genesis chapter 1. The Bible specifically says that Adam and Eve were the first human beings ever created (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18-25). This "Lilith" myth is popular in some radical feminist movements because Lilith is an example of a woman refusing to submit to male headship.

Where did you read that? Wherever you read that it is telling a complete total lie. Read the Bible instead. Adam only had one wife. After God created him, He saw that Adam was lonely. So, he created Eve to be his wife.

She was Adams first wife, made out of the dust, just like he was. Adam didn't like that. She wouldn't submit to him, so God cast her out. There are legends that say that she married the devil and is the mother to a host of demons - but I don't know about that part. All I know is that Lilith wanted a partnership, and Adam wanted a slave.

Many people believe this is a story used by the church to demonize women. Hence the Lilith Fair, to take back womens power.
