Well i don't believe in god for various reasons one no proof second why. I prefer to be a nonconformist and have nothing to do with religions. I just post it because i want to know what you think about me not believing in god and why YOU believe in god. I guess the reason i don't believe in god is because my parents do and most of your beliefs come from your parent so i have my on beliefs and i have reasons to believe on what i believe.

noofence wookie but technically am not rejecting anything(god) since i don't believe in anything thus making it unexixtent for me so any of your beliefs don't apply on me, thus causing nothing since there was nothing to begin with. I guess it's for my way of thinking i am an A student.

It's ok to be nonconformist.

And one of the hardest things in the world, maybe the hardest, is to think and choose one's own path distinct from the indoctrination our parents gave to us during our upbringing.
(ok maybe the hardest is reconciling your differences with your parents)

However once you sever this cord, you now have a wonderful opportunity to go out and check out all of the different ideas out there and see if any of them seem more plausible for you.

Maybe in the end it will still come down to atheism for you. But atleast then, you will know for sure why. And I understand that atheists find that to be an extremely encouraging thought.

Myself, I definitely believe in a creator. I am a scientist. But I have seen and experienced supernatural phenomena that science cannot explain. So even if I was tortured on pain of death to give up my belief, I have no choice but to believe there is something more.

Good Luck!

At first I wanted to say that I felt sorry for you because rejecting God has its consequences. However, I don't want you to think that I am condemning you or chastising you. It is your choice and God and His Son, Jesus, loves you regardless.

Plus, two of my brothers are agnostic so I have feel the same for them. The feeling is this: 1) Confusion - why would you reject something so wonderful just because? 2) Love - you are still God's child whether you reject Him or not and therefore you still are more precious than diamonds. 3) Hope

By the way, if you are open to finding proof that there really is a God please read Bruce Muncaster's book A Skeptic's Search For God.

You see, I am not talking about having to belong to a certain church. I am talking about a private person belief and commitment to something greater than yourself.

There are many reasons why people do not believe in God :-

1. They are disappointed with Life & wonder why God
put them in such a predicament.

2. They see all the atrocities in this world and wonder if
there is really a God, why did He allow it to happen
eg: deformed babies, HIV, Bird flu, war, flood, quake

3. They are rebellious especially teenagers and want
to exert themselves from their parents'hold on them

4. None of the above, they just want to enjoy their life
& could not be bothered about what happens in the
afterlife.

I believe not because of my parents, though in part, but because i have had answered prayers. I see my Creator in my son's giggling face. I have been where you are. I decided to play a game when i was at my lowest. I dared God to come to me and pick me up, to change my life, not just to let me into heaven but help me out of the hell i was in. And you know what? I honestly felt it. I felt the spirit. You can say whatever you want, its ok, really. If its all in my mind then i hope God only makes me more mental! Amen

I Believe, because I Choose to! I do not want to be, where you are! It is too hard, To think I Know All! (you do not) No one does, and I can love everyone, from where I am! Can You? I love you, as much as , your parents do, or more! It is the "NORM" to rebel, and I Do understand, most "parents" do not get it! But "love" is so easy! So much easier than "HATE"! God bless (PS ! Hush hush! There is no such thing as an ATHEIST! Impossible! Unless You KNOW ALL! AND you don't!)

I don't dwell on thinking about people who choose not to believe in God.

I believe that they are mislead, and that many of them either really want to be right, or have totally convinced themselves of the non-existance of God. It really is a shame...
