i don't always feel like life is worth it, but when i feel that way i just try to remember that life has its ups and downs, and i have to say that every sad time i've been through has been worth every happy time i've been blessed with. also, hard times are what you make of them, you have to make the choice to endure what life has to offer, you can't let it break you, but you can let it shape you into a stronger more experienced and knowledgeable person.
but to snap out of your depression, i would add spontanaeity to your life, sometime forcing yourself to randomly get out and do things, can jump start your mind and body into feeling better.(cuz depression has physical affects as well.) anyway, good luck!

If you're experiencing minor depression that's completely normal sometimes in life I think during those times it's important to do anything to take your mind off of wherever it is. If that means hanging out with friends, window shopping, writing, reading, whatever it is that you like to do, do it. I've also read that exercising works as well, but I never exercise so I don't know, but it's scientifically proven that exercise increases your endorphins which makes you feel better. Also eat salmon and other fish with omega 3 fatty acids, because it wards off depression, but you have to eat it often. I know this works because it did for me. If this doesn't help read a self-help or spiritual book. Medicine is definitely not your only option, it might be an option, but it's not the only one.
But if you have been depressed for a while or it's heavy depression, where you're sleeping all the time, or you don't want to do any of the activities you used to, or you're feeling a lack of hope you should seek some professional help.

Exercise can be very helpful. You'll need to do at least half an hour a day of walking or other cardio, and an hour would be better. It will help. If your depression goes on for more than two weeks, though, or if you feel suicidal, then you should definitely try medication under a doctor's supervision.

You can't "snap" out of it. You have to deal with the situation that has got you down. If this is a situational depression, when the stressor are gone you will fell better. If you don't start feeling better soon you need to see someone. Sometimes clergy can help, sometimes your regular doctor can give you a mental health referal. I hope you can find the help you need and start feeling better.

Well then you need to try to figure out what is depressing you, and then try to think of it in a positive way, or find something positive about it, something that you may of learned from it. You need to get back out there and get your life back, and just delling on whatever it was is not going to help you, so what you need is to try to go and get in with your friends, and go out and have some more fun again, and try to find an solotion to your depression so you can move on, but please do not stuff what ever has caused your depression. Casue that is important that you do get that worked out. So if you can not do it alone then you can go and see a therapist and get help from them.
