you should be more concerned with the MAKE more so than the manufacturer. a mustang for example would cost you a lot more for insurance than a Taurus. if can be considered a sports car or high performance, it will be more than a sedan. turbos and "SS" trim Chevy's will be a lot more than a "normal" trimmed out vehicle. whatever you buy though, you will pay too much since your 16 and a male. its a crock but that's the way it goes.

Are you more concerned with cost or coverage? Billy Bob on the corner might get you a good deal on a policy but God help you if you ever have to access the coverage. You might find out that good old Billy Bob is not longer there or he just doesn't want to talk to you. Check out companies with good reputations, it's not going to be easy at you age to find one that wants to take you on as a risk but they do exist. I work for one of those companies but unfortunately I can't help you because I don't live in the US.

check out 21st Century, www.21st.com I dont know if they are in your state, but you can see. They are awesome. Cheapest Ive ever seen. Trust me I insure 6 cars and I only pay $700 every 6 mos for full coverage.

Low insurance rates and 16 year old drivers are pretty much mutually exclusive I think aren't they.

Try GEICO.. it worked for my kids...
