Hey guys, got a question for you. Does anyone know how to "custom crop" in Mac OSX's Preview Program? I need to cut around things and I can't figure how to crop without doing it in that box pattern.
Thanks

Hi Bob S,

How's it going? Ignore the Windows Nazi, Bob. I'm not sure what you're asking, but let me see if I can help you.

First you go up to File > Grab > Selection menu command. Some text comes up in the middle of Preview saying, "Drag the cross-hairs over the area you want to capture." When your mouse arrow is over the image it turns to the cross-hairs.

When you move the cross-hairs there is a set of numbers next to it, giving your position of the image. Hold down the mouse button and drag diagonally across the image. The rest of the image stays clear and viewable while the image you are cropping goes gray.

As soon as you let off on the mouse button, the image comes up listed on the side drawer. The image is also saving to your desktop (or where ever) You can keep on cropping some other images if you want.

If you need some fancy lasso type cutting images, you will need to download something like GraphicsConverter or PhotoShop, and use that with the images.

I hope that this helps.
