Well Concerta and Adderall are a controlled substance and can cause withdrawls later. Going to different doctors they talk to you and then give you their take on the diagnosis. Strattera is a non-stimulant and is shown to help a lot and with fewer side effects. Now Lithium... a lot of people dont realize this but you should not intake much salt or caffeine! I used to work in a residential facility for troubled youth and I did that for 2 years. I was a huge part to the doctor on how the behaviors have been and so on. If you are going back to school and you do feel like you have attention problems and catch your mind going to a different subject then I would express your feelings to your doctor. They only know what you tell them. It takes awhile before it kicks in and actually work. I hate for you to go to classes before your meds are stable in your system and are working correctly. Your grades could really suffer and this could mean the difference of getting your degree and giving up and dropping out! I hope you will research different medications. Good Luck!!!

Good for you for seeing a psychiatrist and for heading back to college!

Stick with the Concerta as long as it is working and not causing bad side effects. You may have to change drugs later, as sometimes the stuff stops working when the body adjusts to it.

No idea about the psychologist, really. I assume this is a state requirement and is intended to make sure you're adjusting well, but don't really know.

Good luck!

If the Concerta is working, you should tell the psychologist that. I don't think you should let him/her switch medications if the type you're on is working. It could possibly cause your symptoms to come back, and maybe even worse than before. Stay on the concerta, and good luck with college...

Hang in there. Stay with the med that works and the shrink that you trust. Took me a year to get properly diagnosed and on a good med.
