He wasn't a carpenter. He was a stone-worker, or removed stones. The translation was wrong. Sorry I don't have an online source for it, it was in a history channel special on the life of Jesus.

He can do anything, so He could make a tree in a blink of an eye, just as the Rapture will happen. And, neither came first, the seed did.
