Just built the computer.

Ok i have gotten to this screen. It shows two drives. (i have two SATA drives in my comp). both have 240gigs. it asks

"Where do you want to install Windows?"

I make a partition that is enough for the installation, but when i click next..it says:

"Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation."

Please, Im so close to being finished with this...what do i do!!

now you need to pay close attention to this, 1 try clicking another drive, and 2 if that doesn't work get new drives and if you do not know how to install them and they come with manuals read the setup instructions or if they don't come with manuals get an IT guy to install them or if you know how to install drives just install them and 3 if that doesn't work, get an IT guy to install it for you and 4 if that doen't work you might need more disk space

I just want you to know you're not the only one with problems - I have been wrestling with this since 10PM - It's 7:30 AM where I live now... yes... 9 1/2 hours of torture.

I have a Intel 975BXB board with four 36.4GB Raptor hard drives configured in a RAID 0 array. I finally got Vista to find the drive and the partition but it will not install "criteria message."

I am so close from installing Win XP again and just saying screw Vista for a year. I'm going to give it another attempt tomorrow - but right now I'm going to bed, I've been up almost 24 hours because of this O/S...

Check in the bios system settings to make sure that your drives are being detected, if they are being detected by the BIOS software then the problem most likey is that the drives are unpartitioned download a boot disk from http://www.bootdisk.com (windows 98SE or above) and use FDisk to make some partitions on those drives, of course vista will RE-partition them with a newer file system, BUT the point of the matter is you want to be able to install it.
