Christians think Jesus was the son of God, while Muslims see him as a prophet. Christians do not recognize Muhammad as a prophet.

There are two fundamental differences between Islam and Christianity.

1. Belief that humans are born with "original sin". Muslims believe babies are born innocent and it is only because of the temptations in life that people choose to sin.

2. Belief in God having a son. Muslims believe that Jesus was born to a virgin mother, and the story in the Quran is practically identical to the story as related in the Bible. The difference is Muslims say that the similitude of Jesus is like Adam - God said "be" and it was. God is without limitation, a creator, with no need to procreate.

I read a magazine about Islamic eschatology. The muslims belive in a rapture but it's different than the one in the Holy Bible. They belive that in the battle of armageddon Jesus Christ will be there but he will be over run and cry out to Allah to save him . Allah will wisk him away and then the Islamic messiah, called the Mahdi will come down and defeat everyone who doesn't proclaim than Allah ids the One God.Muslims have no tolerance for other Religions while Christianity says to respect everyones religion. It's also said that one of the events leading up the "the Hour"(islam's equivalent to the second coming of Christ) the earth will rotate backwards. Crazy stuff eh?

Christianity does not recognize Muhammed as a prophet and Islam does not recognize Jesus Christ as the Son of God. However, they do recognize Jesus as a holy man/prophet.

Additionally, in Christianity, the Holy book is the Bible, whereas in Islam, it is the Koran (apologies to those who recognize this as a misspelling).

Esther is on the right path.

Christianity claims Jesus to be the Son of God, the Messiah, the beginning and the end.
Islam claims Jesus to be a man, no more, no less.

Christianity claims that Jesus was crucified.
Islam says that never happened, he died of old age or some other way.

Christianity teaches that God was the God of the Jews, and that God still loves Jewish people.
Islam says Jews came from monkeys. Seriously.

Islam says Mohammad will come back and exact reveng on his enemies.
Christianity says Jesus will come back and remove His church from the torments of this world.

Etc, etc.

Allah has no son. Jesus is the only begotten son of the God of the bible.

Islam claims Jesus did not die on the cross. Islam does not point the way to Jesus as the only way to salvation.

The bible tells us that Jesus died on a cross to pay for our sins, and that He is the only way to salvation.

Islam claims Jesus was merely a prophet, and not even as important as Mohammed. Mohammed did not point the way to Jesus as savior, therefore he is merely a false prophet, as mentioned in the bible.

Muslims believe that God has no sons or daughters or helpers of any kind. We do not look at the Bible in the same way, yet we respect it. Muslim are required to cover (I don't). Muslim women can only marry Muslim men. A christian woman can marry whomever she desires.
