Click on the start button, then choose run, in the box type "recent" without the quotes, this will open a window with all the recent documents listed in it, go to the menu bar at the top, click on edit then choose select all, once all the files are selected hit the delete key on your keyboard to delete all of them. This will not delete the original file just the entry for the recent files menu.

Clear the history of recently used files

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the General tab.
Clear the Recently used file list check box, and then click OK.
The list of recently used files is cleared, and no history of your file usage is kept. To start a new history of recently used files, do the following:

I believe if you right click on the start menu bar, and choose properties, one of the options there will allow you to clear "Recent Documents". The other option is to go to Start->All programs -> accessories -> system tools -> Disk Cleanup and use that...

click on document and delete ? if more than one click on file and select all and delete all?
If you or talking about history or were you have been on the Internet ? then click on history clock in upper task bar and delete that days events?
