It could be they are getting infected or maybe they are splitting your gums... dont really know...
here are some thing to try to releive the pain....
1. rinse with warm salt water.... this will especially help if your gums are swollwen.
2. try some oragel or anbesol... never worked for me personally but others swear by it...
3. try some excederin, take 2 now and if that doesnt take the edge off take 2 ibuprofens 2 hours later... but only do this until you can get to a dentist...
4. try appling ice pact to the side of your face....
tooth pain is the worst out there..... try calling your dentist... he might be able to see you as an emergency..

I have been told old remedies and will tell you but i don't know if they work or not all i can say is something is better than nothing! And no i don't think it is anything serious they are probably impacted which means that they are side ways trying to come in and it ain't gonna happen you may have to have them surgically removed, And it may be pain just from them coming in when mine came through they hurt really bad and were not impacted. They say that is why babies do there teething when they do because the pain is so crucial an adult wouldn't be able to handle the pain of that many teeth coming in at once. But for babies they don't remember it. Home remedies: Try to put some whole dried cloves on the pain area and it may work also warm water and salt may soothe it. When my husband gets a toothache he uses baby orajel he says that it works and last longer than the adult kind.

Your wisdom teeth are more than likely impacted. Do make a dental appointment. But in the meantime you can try an over the counter toothache medicine or lay an aspirin on your gum until it dissolves this should help a little. Don't do it a lot as it can cause mouth ulcers. Also warm salt water gargle is good for temporary relief. And last suggestion for temporary relief is whiskey on the gum don't swallow it just a dab will do.
Good luck I've been there and know the discomfort.

Shorty2002, what you're feeling is your wisdom teeth pushing your other teeth for space. There's not enough space in one's mouth for the wisdoms (normally), It's advisable to get these teeth pulled ASAP. The pain will drive you nuts..... Believe me.
