While I no longer live in Texas I do not believe that a permit is required to carry one and I'm sure that one is not required to own one. Here is a link to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/crime_records/chl/chlsindex.htm
Check out the web site for Texas law concerning the carrying of various types of devices that can be considered a weapon.
I personally am not in favor of a taser however. They may work okay for law enforcement because usually a law enforcement office has some back up and he is armed with a pistol in case he needs it. A taser is a one shot deal, can be defeated by a simple leather jacket and may not stop a determined attacker.
Good luck.
Good luck.

No. There is no permit. You don't need a permit to own a firearm in Texas. You only need a Concealed Carry Permit in Texas to carry a firearm on your person. Stun guns, tasers, mase, and pepper spray do not fall into this category.

I think a stun gun might be but a taser no. Taser is like having pepper spray, but since a stun gun actually shoots a projectile maybe

Is the a reproduction? Guns made before 1898 are not legally considered firearms. But it's a moot point as the handgun ownership age in AZ was never raised to 21. You can own a handgun, just not buy it from a dealer.
