if you fell in love with your friend. and somebody else was talking about how he should date you to your friend but your friend says you guys should never go out cause that would ruin the friendship and your friend doesnt know that you like him. does that mean your friend doesnt like you enough to date you ? because i dont think its possible to keep yourself from dating someone you really really liked.

Well, first of all I said to myself "WHAT", but then I read and re-read your question to understand it. But....I have both guy and girl friends, and although guy friends would love to have sex with you, they would rather believe it or not stay just friends. Girls on the other hand WANT to date most of their guy friend counterparts. It's a proven fact that girls get way more attached on an emotional level than guys do, so the friendship to them is just a starting point to having a great boyfriend, ya know what I mean. But in the long run, and take my word for it....been there done that. Having sex or getting romantically involved with the opposite sex "friend" is a really bad idea, because it ALWAYS ends in disaster. Sorry!

Yeah it is possible to not date your friend, your amount of willpower doesn't match everyone else's. This is what destroys friendships sometimes, for some it's worth the chance but before you go into it ask your self is losing what you two have worth the risk, when the odds are in favor that he doesn't feel the same way about you.
