I have had 2 c-sections and the last one was a week before Katrina so I could not get back to the doctor to have my staples removed on time, and I also started to have an odor coming from the scare area, It was infection. IF you had your baby on Monday then this coming Monday you should have an appointment to have the staples took out so until then you need to wash the area a few times a day and after wards try your best to dry VERY well ( have some one else do this if you don't feel comfortable wit h it) then take a long pad and put the cotton side to your incision. You will need to change the pad every time you go to the rest room. I would not use any thing on the incision other than soap because the areas can get over dried and also cause problems. Even with the incision being infected don't panic it is common and happens every day. By the time I finally seen a doctor my staples had grew in to my skin and they had to cut my skin to remove the staples so please keep your appointment to have them removed.

About a week after my c-section, my scar (they removed the staples before I left the hospital) got kinda icky. I never had a infection, but I put some Neosporin on it, and it got better right away. The hospital tells you not to do that, but when I visited my OB she said to try putting some on there. It's kind of tricky cause your stomach can still be hanging down over that scar and it doesn't get aired out very well! I also spent a lot of time with my pants pulled down low to let it get exposed to the air and kind of "dry out." Good luck!

When I had my emergency C-Section and was released from the hospital my take home care sheet said if any odor or fluids comes from the cut to seek medical help.

I'm just wondering why you wouldn't just call your doctor for the answer to this. Any kind of smell coming from an incision would mean that something isn't right.
